And when they fall in with you they say: We believe; and when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Allah is Aware of what is hidden in (your) breasts. Haaa-‘antum  ‘ulaaa-‘i  tu-hibbuunahum  wa  laa  yuhib-buunakum  wa  tu’-minuuna  bil-Kitaabi  kullih. Wa  ‘izaa  la-quukum  qaaluuu’  ‘aamannaa. Wa maa zalamahumul-laahu  wa laakin  ‘anfusahum yazlimuun.

In the previous lessons, the religious condition, social, economical and political circumstances, and after life result of the People of the Scripture have been checked. Due to one sentence of these verses, the Muslims were taken in for a long time (they remained in deception).
