Preaching is incumbent upon the Muslims but after- - -

Lesson # 735 From Holy Qur’aan

Preaching is incumbent upon the Muslims but after- - -

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage - 2

Verse – 70 of 165, Section – 8 of 20 (Part - 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson

Preaching is incumbent upon the Muslims and it is the same duty which has been prescribed upon Muhammad, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) by Allaah Almighty, and after Him, it has been prescribed upon the Muslim Nation, which is His Successor. Once earlier, the topic of preaching has already been discussed in this Chapter (Surah).

Now, the second time, which three verses we recited in the previous four lessons, not only the preaching has been prescribed upon the Nation into them, but we can know the way of preaching also. This lesson will reflect on it so that after understanding the importance of this duty, it may be performed in a correct manner.

Last three verses are a link of this chain. Abstract from the first verse of them is “You should withdraw from those people, who meddle with the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan (when they listen), disrespect the verses by their tongue or motions and are not ready to hear with humanity, because in such condition, there is a fear “By sitting with them, our names may be written in the list of wrongdoing people. Then you should not go unto them until they meddle with any other topic”.

The idolaters of Makkah used to do so, that, after hearing the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan, they used to mock with Them. Due to this reason, the Muslims thought: What form of their guidance will be, because as soon as we withdraw from their meeting, they begin to meddle and jest, curse and taunt rudely in the same manner?

It has been replied in the next verse: In such condition, those people who withdraw and ward off evil are not accountable for them in aught. Moreover, it is commanded also that the reminder about the commands of Holy Qur’aan must be given them that haply they too, who are wise of them, may ward off evil.

In the third verse, it has been described very clearly that you should forsake those rude people who take their religion for a pastime and a jest, and whom the life of the world has beguiled. But even then, it has been commanded that you should remind the mankind hereby Revelations of Holy Qur,aan, admonition and advice lest a soul be destroyed by what it earned. It can be understood from this description that “If there is any fear that whenever we shall visit them, they will mock with us”, in this form, admonishing them is not incumbent.

Therefore, in this situation, such a method of preaching should be chosen that the duty of preaching is performed as well as the cause of conflict is not born. It can be known by thinking that its only way is: The Muslims should prove it the best religion by acting upon their own religion themselves. They should correct their own condition before saying or hearing others in such a manner that everyone begin to say: No doubt; these people are the best in morality, business, social relationship and politics. They lead all in sympathy, advice and human well-wishing. They are embodied incomparable of union and amity.

Whenever we shall expose ourselves to view duly corrected and the people will know that, truly, we are the best people, then they will adopt our way automatically. Going unto the non-Muslims with the present condition, in which the Muslims are fallen, is like treating ourselves with contempt. In the present form, we cannot say even our own Muslims, because they will reply us at the spot: Look at your own at first. Then saying to others is useless. What can we hope from others in such condition? So the best method of preaching is: Produce yourselves as a pattern for others and along with it, cause to hear the Message to other people.

Lesson # 734 - Evil deeds will become handcuffs and fetters

Lesson # 734 From Holy Qur’aan

Evil deeds will become handcuffs and fetters

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage - 2

Verse – 70b of 165, Section – 8 of 20 (Part - 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And if it offer every compensation it will not be accepted from it. Those are they who are perished by their own deserts. For them is drink of boiling water and a painful doom, because they disbelieved.
Wa  ‘in-  ta’-dil  kulla  ‘ad-lil-laa  yu’-khaz  minhaa.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ikalla-ziina  ‘ubsiluu  bimaa  kasabuu.  Lahum  sharaabum-min  hamiiminw-wa  ‘azaabun  ‘aliimum-bimaa  kaanuu  yakfuruun.

Lesson

Ta’-dil – (offer compensation), this word is from ‘Adl, which means “equality” as per Arabic language. That thing can be compensation of any other thing, which is equal to the other. Therefore, here it aims ‘compensation’.
Sharaabun – (a drink), in Arabic, every drinkable thing is called sharaab, as every eatable thing is called ta-‘aam. There are some other words for the forbidden liquor (sharaab) like ‘Khumar’ etc. in Arabic language.
Hamiim – (boiling), this word is derived from hamam. Two more famous words are in use from its origin: 1. Hamaam – The bath-room, where hot water is available and the hamaam is also kept hot. 2. Hummaa – it means ‘Fever’.

It is appendix of previous verse. It was described in the first part of this verse (previous lesson) that they will not find any protector or intercessor on the Day of Resurrection except Allaah Almighty. Now it is being explained that if they will offer even every compensation, which they will have, to get rid of that Day’s calamity, it will not be possible. Entire remunerations of the whole world will be useless There. Suppose! They have the entire world and by offering it, they want to be saved, even then they will not be able to escape. Only good works and belief will be useful There. There will be no source of their deliverance while their own deeds would be cause of their seizure.

It is commanded that even the biggest compensation will not be accepted before Allaah Almighty. On the Doomsday, the condition of such people will be that, ill-luck of their evil deeds would have surrounded them from all around and they would be standing as prisoners in the Court of Allaah Almighty like criminals to be punished. Their wicked acts will become handcuffs and fetters, and those will tie their hands and feet.

They would have drunk big glasses of cold water in the world. They would not have talked except the bottles pressed in the ice. They would have remained sitting and sleeping in the soft chairs and quilted bedding comfortably. But There, their disbelief only will be kept in front. Worldly pomp, property and dignity will not be useful There, no concession whether they were honored and well off people of the world. For drinking, boiling water will be given to them, and they will suffer a painful doom of body and soul of every sort, and that will be only because they disbelieved in Allaah Almighty and turned away from His Commands in the world.

Lesson # 733 - Neither any protector nor intercessor is beside Allaah

Lesson # 733 From Holy Qur’aan

Neither any protector nor intercessor is beside Allaah

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage - 2

Verse – 70a of 165, Section – 8 of 20 (Part - 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And forsake those who take their religion for a pastime and a jest, and whom the life of the world has beguiled. Remind (mankind) hereby lest a soul be destroyed by what it earneth. It hath beside Allaah no protector nor intercessor.
Wa  zaril-laziinatta-khazuu  diinahum  la-‘ibanw-wa  lah-wan-wa  garrat-humul-hayaatud-dunyaa  wa  zakkir  bihiii  ‘an-  tubsala  nafsum-  bimaa  kasabat;  laysa  lahuu  min-duuNIllaahi  waliy-yunw-wa  laa  shafii’.

Lesson

Zar – it is a command which has been derived from wazar. Wazar means “being separate by forsaking”. Zar is a command, which means “Be separate by forsaking and mind your own business”.
La-‘ibanw-wa  lah-wan – a pastime and a jest. We have discussed these words already in the fourth section of this Chapter.
Garrat – it is past tense and this word has been derived from Garuur. Garuur means “to beguile, to mislead, to deceive”. Magruur is the person, who has fallen into misunderstanding, misapprehension.
Tubsala – to be destroyed, is arrested.

The people belonged to former times vitiated their religion too much that they admitted dancing, singing, pastime and jest also into their religious affairs and afterwards these amusing deeds became entire religion and the actual religion; that is to say worship, prayers and other issues were erased before these ceremonies, as though the religion was destroyed, and those nations, who destroyed it, were also ruined.

Allaah Almighty has forbidden the Muslims to follow them, so that the religion may keep its footing in its original form as well as the believers of this religion may stand firm too in good condition. It is commanded that you should forsake conversation with them. However, you should deliver the Message of Holy Qur’aan to them and admonish them properly that: Such a time is coming when you will be arrested due to your wicked actions, and there will be neither any protector nor intercessor. You will be in such condition that your deeds, in which you did not regard the Rules, Regulations made by Allaah Almighty and His Commands, but you broke Them by following your desires, will be the reason of your destruction. Your friends will desert from your companionship. Those who recommend you hear, will run away from you there. You will see none but Allaah Almighty from Whom you had disconnected in the world, and then you will believe that: There is No well for me now.

Allaah Almighty, in Whose grip you would have to come in the Hereafter, you left Him and displeased from yourself in the world. And they have left you today, with whom you linked your relationships leaving Allaah Almighty. Today (the Day of Resurrection) your affair is only with Allaah Almighty and He will treat you as He warned and admonished you with complete details through Holy Qur’aan already in the world that “It hath beside Allaah Almighty no protector nor intercessor”, so you should try to please Allaah Almighty at every cost.

Lesson # 732 - Responsibility of the Good People

Lesson # 732 From Holy Qur’aan

Responsibility of the Good People

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage - 2

Verse – 69 of 165, Section – 8 of 20 (Part - 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Those who ward off (evil) are not accountable for them in aught, but the reminder (must be given them) that haply they (too) may ward off (evil).
Wa  maa  ‘alallaziina  yattaquuna  min  hisaabihim-min  shay-‘inw-wa  laakin-  Zikraa  la-‘allahum  yattaquun.

Lesson

Yattaquuna – it has been derived from Waqi-yun which means “to save, to guard”. Origin of the word under discussion is ‘Ittiqaaa’, which means “to escape oneself, to abstain from, to be temperate”.
Hisaab – (calculation, number and account). Here it aims “there acts and deeds”. Zikraareminder, remembrance.

The Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was commanded in the previous verse that He should not have any relation with those indecent and mischievous people, who meddle with the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan and withdraw from them in such condition until they meddle with another topic.

When Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) caused to hear the people above quoted verse, they said: We go to the House of Allaah Almighty (the Masjid of Makkah) for Going Round and worship, and the idolaters exist there also, and they use to meddle with us and our acts every time, and mock badly with the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan. So have we been disallowed to go there? because if we shall go there, certainly they will begin to do wicked talks more than earlier. Although we go there for worship but participation in their meeting would be unavoidable, and this act of ours would be against the command of this verse. Some people said: How will they be corrected if we shall not go unto them?

The solution of this difficult has been described in this verse that the person, who goes with the intention of worship and Going Round the Ka’-bah without having any concern with the wicked people, and knows bad their conduct, and have patience upon their tyranny, then he will not be accountable for the badness of their deeds. Because he has gone there for his own business and his only aim is to go round the Ka’-bah and worship. However everyone should try to cause to reach the admonition and advice somehow up to their ears. He/she will be correct whose fortune will be good.

It is commanded that those people who escape from the wicked deeds and do not sit with them, they are not accountable for their evil deeds. If any person has to attend the company of such people due to any reason during their act of meddling the Revelations of Allaah Almighty, then he will not be held as their partner and responsible, and he will not be punished against their wicked acts, and neither can he admonish them at that time. Of course, whenever any suitable situation is observed, he should try to admonish them, so that whosoever of them desires to come to the Straight Path, may turn easily.

Some religious commentators say: There is no sin for any such person of their going astray, who does not go for admonishing those wicked people. Moreover the advice is better that haply they too may ward off evil and the person, who advised, is rewarded.

Behavior of disbelievers with Quran

Lesson # 731 From Holy Qur’aan

Behavior of disbelievers with Quran

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage - 2

Verse – 68 of 165, Section – 8 of 20 (Part - 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And when Thou seest those who meddle with Our Revelations, withdraw from them until they meddle with another topic. And if the devil cause thee to forget, sit not, after the remembrance, with the wrongdoing people.
Wa  ‘izaa  ra-‘ay-tallaziina  yakhuu-zuuna  fiii  ‘AayaatiNaa  fa-‘a’-riz  ‘anhum  hattaa  yakhuuzuu  fii  hadiisin  gayrih.  Wa  ‘immaa  yunsi-yannakash-Shaytaanu  falaa  taq-‘ud  ba’-daz-zikraa  ma-‘al  qaw-miz-zaalimiin.

Lesson

Yakhuu-zuuna – this word has been derived from Khawz. Its actual meanings are “to enter in to water” which aims “to start talking about any matter”. Yakhuu-zuun means “when they start talking about the Verses of Holy Qur’aan”. This type of talking by the disbelievers was for jesting purpose always. And they used to joke with the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan. Second time use of this word in this Verse will be meant as “to engage”.

It was expounded in the previous verse that the people of Makkah deny the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan, but in fact these Revelations are quite True. Then Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was commanded that He should proclaim: I have only Holy Qur’aan, whether you hear it or otherwise, I shall cause to hear you constantly.

Behavior of the disbelievers with Holy Qur’aan was that they used to recite the verses of Holy Qur’aan by infringing its words. By producing false meanings of the verses, they used to jest and joke with them. Their main aim was that the people should take it easy (know it as an ordinary thing) and do not emphasize.

It has been instructed in this verse that whenever these people disrespect the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan, recite them making faces or tell their such meanings that the hearers laugh, and despite causing to know, they do not refrain from doing so, then you should leave them.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! Whenever you observe that these people are mocking with Holly Qur’aan, then you should withdraw from them. However, when they stop treating with contempt and begin to talk upon any other matter, then there is nothing wrong to sit with them. If Satan causes you to forget anytime that you had to withdraw from them in such condition, then you should get up from that place immediately after remembrance, because they are wrongdoing people and by meddling with Holly Qur’aan they are harming their own. You should not have any concern with such ignorant and uncivilized people. It is evident from here that maintaining the Dignity and Greatness of Holly Quraan and its respect is our responsibility. You should be separate from them and express your displeasure for them, who contempt it, explain its meanings wrongfully and do as they desire.

Lesson # 730 - For every announcement there is a term

Lesson # 730 From Holy Qur’aan

For every announcement there is a term

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage - 2

Verses – 66 & 67 of 165, Section – 8 of 20 (Part - 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

66.  Thy people (O Muhammad) have denied it, though it is the Truth. Say: I am not a Keeper over you.

67.  For every announcement there is a term, and ye will come to know.
66.  Wa  kazzaba  bihii  qawmuka  wa  huwal-Haqq.  Qul-lastu  ‘alaykum  bi-Wakiil.

67.  Likulli  naba-‘im-musta-qarrunw-wa  sawfa  ta’-lamuun.

Lesson

It was described in the previous verse, “See how We expound the Revelations (in the Holy Qur’aan) so that they may understand” and accept that it is quite Just and Correct, which has been written in the Scripture and that is sufficient for their guidance. Now it is their perverseness, which these people demand more Signs than It.

“We send only so much Revelations which may be understood by the human being, but if these people do not use their sense, then they should admit by the Talks of Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). And certainly they would have believed but their unreasonable desires and fondness of worldly celebrity and show has prevented them to choose the Truth. And they falsify Our Word “Holy Qur’aan” whereas It is entirely Just and True”.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! Your people have denied it, though it is the Truth. Now they leave the high road from listening its Revelations and demand astonishing tokens so that they may put off. Say to them: I am not a Keeper over you to guide you by force. I have come only to cause to hear and understand you the Holy Qur’aan. There are a lot of promises of rewards for you. And if you do not admit, then there are many warnings of punishment and anguish upon you. Now it depends upon you – believe or disbelieve. However, I tell you more that those promises and warnings, which have been mentioned in it, certainly shall be fulfilled.

Simply it is the matter that everything has its time. That will be done surely, when the time will come. Comprehend it that the decision has been finalized of every happening, and the news about it has been described in the Holy Qur’aan. Sooner or later, it is certain that, that shall happen. If you don’t understand now, it does not matter; you will know everything when the time will come. It is a proverb of Arabic language: Kullu  maa  huwa  ‘aatin  ‘aatin, that is to say; certainly that thing shall come (happen), which has to come.

It is known clearly from these verses that for goodness of the human being, it is incumbent for him to go the Way prescribed by Holy Qur’aan. Zaalikal-Kitaabu  laa  rayba  fiiH. (This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off evil) 2:2. There is neither accommodation of any doubt in any Word of Holy Qur’aan, nor there is any such word in It, which may be against the wisdom of any wise person.

Therefore, every person can believe in it without any hesitation. It is impossible that consequence of Its true believer would be bad. However, any disbeliever can get nothing at last but regret, sorrow and grief. Locality of believing in it is only life of this world; otherwise there will be no time of believing after it.
