A short note on “The Believers” - Quran Chapter 23 – Intro (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2143) درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 23  Intro (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2143) درس قرآن

A short note on “The Believers”

Chapter Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) - 23

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

With regard to order of Holy Qur’an, this is twenty third Chapter. It contains six Sections. Its name is Suratul- Mu’-minuun because this word has been used in its first verse. Moreover, ‘Al-Mu’-minuun means “The Believers”. Attributes, habits and manners of the Believers have been explained in this Chapter. It has been narrated in this chapter that success of the both worlds is for the Believers only.

This Chapter was revealed in Makkah at that time when the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was near to fly for Madinah. In this connection, it is the last Chapter which was revealed in Makkah. It has been commanded to the Believers that they should worship Allaah Almighty and do the works of the world by remaining in the limits fixed by Allaah Almighty. Correct way of offering prayer has been described and the people have been induced that they should produce good manners among themselves. Result of it will be that they will succeed in the both worlds and gain peace in the perpetual life after death for always. For education of the same, Allaah Almighty sent His Prophets (peace be upon them). Summary of those instructions have been recorded in Holy Qur’an, which is the last Scripture for guidance of the mankind. Allaah Almighty revealed this last Scripture unto His last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and finished the lineage of sending Prophets and Messengers. For the worship of Allaah Almighty, knowing Him carefully is necessary. And every intelligent individual can acquire this knowledge from the portents of Allaah Almighty which have been spreading in the entire world. In this connection, Prophets of Allaah Almighty and His Scriptures are compulsory for the help of the mankind’s sense.

In this Chapter, after mentioning concerning Noah, Moses, Aaron and Jesus (peace be upon them), summary of the teachings of Allaah’s Messengers (peace be upon them) has been described. Believers of the Messengers (peace be upon them) acquired higher ranks but their disbelievers were disgraced. After causing to understand the necessity of believing in the Messengers (peace be upon them), it has been explained that having belief in the life after death, reckoning of accounts, punishment and retribution of deeds are compulsory also.

Then it has been described that the mankind, who will not believe in Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), life after death, the accounts, the heaven and the hell, he will grieve after death on the Day of Resurrection. At the end, it has been caused to know the mankind that his life of this world is not a play. He should not spend his time in needless and useless matters, but act upon the commandments of Holy Qur’an considering them true, and pray before Allaah Almighty continuously for His Mercy and Forgiveness.

Jerks of the last Earthquake - Quran Chapter 22 – Summary (Pt-17, Stg-4) (L-2142) درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 22  Summary (Pt-17, Stg-4) (L-2142) درس قرآن

Jerks of the last Earthquake

Chapter Hajj” – (The Pilgrimage) - 22

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

The Day of Resurrection is obviously a Truth. At first the world will be perished. A strong earthquake will come, by jerks of which, the people will lose their senses. Then the earth will be produced from the beginning. Entire human beings will be reproduced again. Accounts of their deeds will be reckoned. And according to their deeds they will be dealt with. Believers with good works will be sent into Gardens and the sinners will be punished properly. The people, who have doubts in the life after death, have not known concerning the Omnipotence of Allaah Almighty.

If they had meditated in the changes of the circumstances of the world, they would have found that deterioration of the things and coming of their back into being is not difficult. As Allaah Almighty arranges the degenerated things, like this He will bring the human beings back to life again after death. Therefore, you should know Allaah Almighty and believe that everything is in His Control. Everything bows before Him and obeys His Commandment. Then what did happen with human beings that some of them rebel and they do not obey His Commandments? They should live in the world according to His Instructions, worship Him as He bids i.e. establishing worship, paying the poor-due, performing the pilgrimage of the Square Building at Makkah, being ready to sacrifice own life, cattle and wealth for His Cause and on His name. These all are the ways of His worship, which He has determined for the mankind. Criticizing in these matters is needless.

These are only signs of this matter that the mankind is obedient of Allaah Almighty. The believers of Allaah Almighty should comply with His Commandments without making any change into them. Denying Allaah Almighty or ascribing any plurality to Him is entirely stupidity. The human beings should not violate the rights of one another together, otherwise Allaah Almighty will help the oppressed against the oppressor and the transgressor will be punished.

Allaah Almighty has chosen the People of Islam and given them this responsibility that they should learn the way of living in the world from the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and teach the same to the entire people of the world. They should establish worship of Allaah Almighty and seek only His support. Only He is Who arranges their works. He is the Best Patron and Protecting Friend of His slaves.

Commentary

It is commanded: You are the people, to whom Allaah Almighty has selected and gave a very easy religion; for the purpose that He had to take a very important work from you in the world. Too many people came before you in the world and departed. They did what they could do. Many of them adopted wrong paths. But some of them were such people who obeyed the sayings of Allaah’s Messengers (peace be upon them) and advanced on the Right Path.

Allaah Almighty sent Holy Qur’an unto you by means of His Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), in which He informed you concerning the circumstances and consequence of old good and wicked people. Now you are standard-bearers of Islam. Your responsibility is that you should learn acting upon the Commandments mentioned in Holy Qur’an from your Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), and then teach your Way to the entire people of the world. You are the last nation for guidance in the world. After you, no nation will be born for guidance of the people. Therefore, neither any Messenger will come after your Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and nor any Scripture will be sent down through the Revelation after Holy Qur’an.

It is understood that you would have to guide the best creature of Allaah Almighty i.e. mankind. For this purpose, at first you should organize yourselves correctly; and then arrange other people. Three matters are very important for your organization. You should lay a foundation of your organization upon them, which are:

1.  Establish the worship.

2.  Pay the poor-due properly.

3.  Hold fast to the religion of Allaah because only He is your Guardian. And He is the Best Patron and the Best Protecting Friend.

Commentary

Jaahiduu – (you should strive), it is a word of command from jihad, origin of which is jahad. Jahad means “to work hard in any work, to endure hardship”.

It was commanded to the Believers in the previous verse: If other people do not believe in Allaah Almighty but consider that other things are their supporters and those fulfill their wishes, then you should leave them at their own and think about yourselves. Your success in the both worlds is in it that you should bow before Allaah Almighty and worship Him. Do good works for His pleasure.

In this verse, there are some more instructions that you should try your best, sacrifice yourselves and your wealth in obedience of Allaah’s commandments for success and prestige of Islam. It is a great favor of Allaah Almighty that He has chosen you for His work from the entire people of the world. And the Way of work, which He has determined for you, is entirely easy. In it, there is no any such instruction, obedience of which may be difficult. There are permissions and remissions in every work, in addition to having regards for facilities. Moreover, this way of work is not strange for you. It is the same Way which was established in the world by your forefather Abraham (peace be upon him) in accordance with Our Commandment. He named the followers of this Way “Muslims” by Our Commandment and the same name has been retained by Holy Qur’an for you. Therefore, It is the same old religion, Instructions of which you should obey.

Unto Allah all things are returned

Chapter Hajj” – (The Pilgrimage) - 22

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

76.  He knoweth all that is before them and all that is behind them, and unto Allah all things are returned.

77.  O ye who believe! Bow down and prostrate yourselves, and worship your Lord, and do good, that haply ye may prosper.

(As-Sajdah  -  Bow down)

Commentary

Maa  bayna  ‘ay-diihim  wa  maa  khalfahum – (all that is before them and all that is behind them), this sentence has already passed at various place including ‘Aayatul-Kursii (2:255).

It is commanded: Who can be a Greater Guide and Guardian than Allaah Almighty? Who is, Who help the mankind at the time of afflictions and teach him how to pass a comfortable and peaceful life, after setting him free from every kind of misfortunes? Having hope that someone else instead of Allaah Almighty will be of your use, is ignorance because a Friend and Protector can be only that Person Who; at first; knows well the condition of that person who seeks help, and secondly; He has as much power and authority that He may provide everything at the time of requirement. If you will meditate, you will find that such person does not exist in the entire world. Every individual has limited knowledge, deficient strength and incompetent authority. Only Allaah Almighty is Who has complete knowledge, full power and entire omnipotence. You should know Him carefully and bow before Him wholeheartedly. If some people begin to disobey His commandment, they will hurt themselves. It is the duty of the Believers that they should not prostrate before any other than Allaah Almighty. For such people it is commanded: Bow down and prostrate yourselves before Allaah Almighty, grip up your loins to worship Him only and do good works for His cause. You should never go near evil deeds. The people, who will choose this Way, will succeed in this world as well as on the Day of Resurrection too. And they will dwell peacefully and comfortably at both places.

Messengers - chosen from mankind and angels

Chapter Hajj” – (The Pilgrimage) - 22

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

74.  They measure not Allah His rightful measure. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty.

75.  Allah chooseth from the angels Messengers, and (also) from mankind. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Seer.
74.  Maa  qadarUllaaha  haqqa  qadriH.  ‘InnAllaaha  la-Qawiy-yun  ‘Aziiz.

75.  ‘Allaahu  yastafii  minal-malaaa-‘ikati  Rusulanw-wa  minannaas.  ‘InnAllaaha  Samii-‘um  Basiir.

Commentary

Yastafii – (He chooses), this word is from ‘istifaa-‘un, which has come out from saf-wun. Saf-wun means “chosen, approved”. The word safaa’ has also been derived from the same. ‘Istifaa-‘un means “choosing and preferring a thing from many things. Mustafaa is from the same too which means “Chosen”.

It is a great ignorance of the human being that he inclines unto other things; forsaking Allaah Almighty.

By observing some people that they do some such improper acts as “giving different and astonishing shapes to pieces of stone etc. and standing, bowing, prostrating themselves before those statues and asking from them for boons ”, it is conjectured that either these people are totally senseless or if they have some sense then their bestial desires have buried it completely.

It has been caused to understand in this verse that such acts are committed by the mankind because either he did not know his Creator entirely or knew but incomplete. Behold! Allaah Almighty has all powers and those powers are overpowering upon the entire powers of the creatures. If the people will use their sense, they will understand immediately that for the help of their sense, Allaah Almighty appointed His Messengers (peace be upon them); chosen from human beings and angels. And by means of them He sent down His Instructions unto the people, which are perfect in all respect, because Allaah Almighty is Wise, Seer and Aware of all circumstances.
