The Lord is Full of Bounty for mankind

Chapter Naml”- (The Ant) - 27

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

72.  Say: It may be that a part of that which ye would hasten on is close behind you.

73.  And lo! thy Lord is Full of Bounty for mankind, but most of them do not give thanks.

74.  And lo! thy Lord knoweth surely all that their bosoms hide, and all that they proclaim.
72.  Qul  ‘asaaa  ‘any-yakuuna  radifa  lakum  ba’-zullazii  tasta’-jiluun.

73.  Wa  ‘inna  Rabbaka  la-Zuu-  Fazlin  ‘alan-naasi  wa  laakinna  ‘aksarahum  laa  yash-kuruun.

74.  Wa  ‘inna  Rabbaka  la-  ya’-lamu  maa  tukinnu  suduuru-hum  wa  maa  yu’-linuun.

Commentary

Radifa – (close behind), it is in past tense from the word radfun, which means “to sit behind a rider”. Such person is called radiif and ridaf. Here it aims “to reach near”.

Tukinnu – (to hide, to conceal), this word is from ‘iknaanun, which means “to conceal in the veil”.

It was commanded in the previous verse that the Day of Resurrection has been fixed for punishment and reward of personal deeds. No one knows that when it will come. However surely it will come but the people do not believe in it. One should understand it clearly by beholding wicked deeds of the guilty people that those criminals who were not punished in this worldly life, will certainly be punished. They cannot be saved even after death. The name of that Day is “the Doomsday”.

The Infidels of Makkah, who were impatient, they asked: Tell us if you are true; that when the Doomsday will come? It has been commanded in this verse: Say to them! Allaah Almighty knows its determined time. Surely it will come; sooner or later. It is possible that some part of punishment of your evil deeds is given to you shortly even in this world. (This prediction was made up in the Battle of Badr). They do not understand it that delay in torment is Grace of Allaah Almighty. But instead of showing gratitude of His Grace, they have been demanding immediate punishment. Say to them that Allaah Almighty knows their hidden wicked deeds and manifest evils!

Commentary

It was explained earlier that the knowledge of Unseen is peculiarity of Allaah Almighty. Therefore, only He deserves to be a Worshipped. Only He is Who told such Unseen matters to His Messengers (peace be upon them) by His Grace, in which it was necessary for the betterment of the mankind to believe.

Allaah Almighty commanded: Say to them that they should believe in such matters, otherwise they will be ruined. That is to say, if they believe that Allaah Almighty surely exists, coming of His Prophets (peace be upon them) in the world is certain, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is His last Messenger from them, Holy Qur’an is last heavenly Scripture, the Day of Resurrection shall certainly come, the mankind will be brought back to life again after death, his deeds will be reckoned, good people will be sent into the Garden and wrongdoers will be thrown into the Hell.

These are the Unseen matters, belief in which is compulsory for the mankind, otherwise he will be destroyed. Say to those people who are in doubt concerning these matters: The truth of these matters will become manifest upon you if you travel through the land.

It is being commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): These people should travel in the land and see; how the end of those who disobeyed the Commandments of Allaah Almighty was. They were ruined in the world as they were frightened by the Prophets (peace be upon them), and like this; the promise concerning the punishment on the Doomsday will surely be fulfilled as the promise of torment in the world was fulfilled. If someone is saved in this world, he will not be saved on the Day of Judgment. You should neither grieve and nor be in distress if they do not admit. You have performed your duty of causing to understand them. Let them mind their business. They say: If you are true then tell us that when the Day of Resurrection will come and when the wicked people will be punishment! Its answer is in the next lesson.

Commentary

It was described in the previous lesson that nobody knows that when the Day of Resurrection will come. Only Allaah Almighty knows it, because save Him, no one have knowledge concerning the Unseen. Many of the people were involved; sometimes in doubt and sometimes they denied.

It has been commanded in this verse that the people who do not believe in Allaah Almighty, cannot be aware of the truth concerning the Hereafter. They say: There is no doubt that we have to die, but how may we have belief that when we became dust after death, then we and our parents who died long ago, will be reproduced after bringing them out from the earth. These are legends only which we heard during the whole life. And before us, our ancestors heard the same like us. Thousands of centuries have passed, but neither we heard and nor saw that any mankind was raised again after death. Someone would have said any time that the human beings would be brought forth again after death, their deeds would be reckoned and they would be rewarded or punished according to their deeds. Afterwards, they began to express their opinions about it. The people multiplied their words, made stories and by relating; posteriors listened to the stories of the formers. The same stories (God forbid) have been recorded in Qur’an, whereas there is no reality in it, so none should be entangled in this dispute willing or not willing.

66.  Baliddaaraka  ‘ilmuhum  fil-‘Aakhirah.  Bal hum  fii  shakkim-minhaa;  bal  hum-minhaa  ‘amuun.
(Section 5)

Commentary

‘Iddaaraka – {they (tried to understand but failed)}, actually this word is tadaarak which means “to run behind a thing constantly to catch it, to try to catch by running behind, remedy, management, to take precautions, to provide against”. Here it aims “their knowledge tried continuously to understand the object of Hereafter, but could not get it save it that they failed”. Origin of this word is darkun, which means “to find”. The word ‘idraak has come out from the same, which means “understanding, perception”.

‘Amuuna – this word is plural of ‘ami-yun, which means “heartily blind”.

Those peculiarities have been described in last five verses which should be in a Real God. Then it has been asked: Have any other these peculiarities save Allaah Almighty? It is evident that none has these peculiarities save Him. Then, is it not result of depravity, ignorance and lack of thinking that you admit someone else as God save Allaah Almighty? He is Exalted and Higher than your false and self-made gods.

The Idolaters do not have any strong proof that there is also another god save Allaah Almighty. One more epithet of Allaah Almighty has been mentioned in this verse which is specified with Him only. It is commanded: As He is Most Powerful and Omnipotent; He knows also the entire Unseen secrets of the heavens, the earth and all the worlds. None from the creatures have such knowledge which has encircled everything. It has been explained in these clear words: None in the heavens and the earth knows the Unseen except Allaah. Like this, no one knows that when the Day of Judgment will come and when they will be resurrected.

After that it is commanded: Their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Some of them are in doubt about it and some, who are blind by heart, have denied.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

64.  Is not He (Best) Who produceth creation, then reproduceth it, and Who provideth for you from the heaven and the earth? Is there any God beside Allah? Say: Bring your proof, if ye are truthful!
64.  ‘Ammany-yabda-‘ul-khalqa  summa  yu-‘iiduhuu  wa  many-yarzuqukum-minas-samaaa-‘i  wal-‘arz.  ‘A-‘ilaahum-ma-‘Allaah.  Qul  haatuu  burhaanakum  ‘in-  kun-tum  saadiqiin.

Commentary

Yu-‘iidu – (will reproduce), this word has come out from ‘i-‘aadatun, which has been derived from ‘awdun. ‘Awdun means “to return”. ‘I-‘aadatun means “to send back, to bring back on first position”.

The Idolaters are being asked in this verse: Describe! Who is the Creator of all creatures? The fact is that till today no one could give its answer. Any reasonable and acceptable argument was not produced by any person that how the entire universe came into existence. Some one said: It came into existence naturally, another said: We don’t need to think concerning it. It is not sufficient that we invent ourselves any thing from the matter at the time of necessity, which fulfills our desires.

Holy Qur’an described to the mankind: Allaah Almighty disclosed the matter by His Perfect Power. Then He created the entire creatures from it. Saying that “these all things have come into existence naturally” is nothing but cheating.

A maxim of a simple Badawi Arabian is famous that “while we have to accept after looking dung that it is of a camel, then we will have to admit willingly or unwillingly after looking the sky and the earth that there is Someone Who created them. Moreover, it is obvious that Who created first time, He will reproduce again after deterioration. Think it also! Not only Allaah Almighty created the creatures but He provided requirements for their fostering and stability too from the earth and the sky. Therefore, as He is the Creator, He is the Lord and the Supplier of the means of subsistence also. Produce a strong proof and credential that everything has been created by someone else instead of Allaah Almighty, if you do not admit it! If you wish to become true then you would have to prove, otherwise it is nothing but carelessness and perversity.

Commentary

For finding a way of any other place from own place is impossible as long as one does not know radically four directions. After determining East, West, North and South, the required place is fixed and its establishment depends on the Stars at night. If a person is in the desert, forest or ship during the darkness of the night, he can do nothing save wandering confounded and confused. None can help him in finding the way whether those are Idols or people unaware of directions and nor those can reach anywhere directly themselves.

It is commanded: Allaah Almighty created stars in the sky and caused them to glitter. For them; He determined fixed places. By means of the same arrangement, you can find your destination easily. Moreover, He managed another system for you that He arranged to rain water on the earth at the time of necessity. We knew by thinking that this arrangement also was done by Allaah Almighty Who gave heat to the sun and fixed its different places by setting differences. By means of heat, hot air ascends up and for filling its place, cold winds blow in from all around, which bring rainy clouds along with them. The people are pleased by these winds that now the rain will come, dryness and heat will be repelled. Can any other make this arrangement save Allaah Almighty? Then why do you choose any other as God save Him? High is Allaah Almighty above whatever you associate with Him.
