LESSON # 326 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
‘Aali- ‘Imran (The Family Of Imran) - 3
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran
Introduction
This Surah
was revealed at Al-Madinah. It has
200 verses and 20 Sections. In Surah
Al-Baqarah especially the children of Israel were addressed, but in this Surah direction of speech is towards the
Christians. As per Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace
be upon him) this Surah has also many
virtues like Surah Al-Baqrah.
One narration about the purpose of revelation of
this Surah is copied. When Messenger
of Islam (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) migrated to Al-Madinah, the Light of true religion
spread near and at distance. Nevertheless, the Jews who lived in the
surroundings of Al-Madina denied from
the right religion after revelation of a true religion by Allah Almighty. One
group of the Christians of Negron came for augment and debate. Negron is a
place in Yemen territory in the south of Arab. During those days, there was
much population of the Christians in Negron. This group had fourteen well-known
persons. Out of them, three were most famous:-
1.
Abdul
Masiih Aaqib
- due to chief-ship and wealth.
2.
Eiham
al-Sayyad - due to judgment and management
3.
Abu
Haarisah bin Aqlamah
- due to being a religious
scholar
The 3rd person actually belonged to
notorious tribe of Arab “Bani Bakr bin
Waayel”. The kings of Rome honored and regarded him with respect keeping in
view his knowledge about religion, grandeur and nobility. They built churches
spending much wealth and appointed him on superior rank of religious matters.
These people reached Al-Madinah and
discussed in detail with the Messenger of Islam (grace, glory, blessings and
peace of Allah be upon him).
Holy Qur’an appealed the learned persons in this
auspicious Surah for concordance and
mutual aid, and if they cannot be partners in other matters, even then they
should join at least for preaching about Oneness of God and its dissemination
because it is a mutual aim of all of us.
The entire Prophets of God (peace be upon them) came
in this world with only one purpose. In this connection, the Messenger of Islam
(grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is the last link of
this chain. His nation is owner of perfection and evidence with the title of
“Well Nation”. Therefore, this last nation of the world was informed about its
duties and responsibilities along with this description. Moreover, it warned
that it should avoid from those methods, which became causes of destruction of
the earlier nations.
A Short Note On This Surah
Surah Al-Imran
begins with the words, “Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the
Eternal, He revealed the Scripture with truth for guidance of the humanity. He
completed them by revealing the Holy Qur’an in the last. He established the
touchstone to examine the true and false. Some verses of Holy Qur’an are so
clear and bright that everybody can understand them easily. But each person
cannot recognize the meanings of some verses. We should believe in all of them
and have faith that their meanings are entirely correct, and these all are from
our Lord.
Then He commanded that the heart of humankind inclines
more to wife and children, heaps of gold and silver, holding up and keeping his
wished things. However, these entire things are transitory. The heart should be
in love with only acquiring willingness of Allah Almighty and the next world.
Remaining a seeker of Heaven is the best aim. Allah Almighty has determined
Islam as religion for the human world. Sorrow for that some people shirk to
believe in it. Afterwards the recitation
is about the birth of Mary and her fostering, birth of Jesus (peace be upon them),
try to correct the nation and his miracles etc. Then the Christians are told to
reap advantage from real preaching of Jesus (peace be upon him) and obey the
Holy Qur’an, the Scripture brought by the Last Messenger of Allah Almighty
(grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), because your own Scripture is
witness of his truth. It described also that Prophet Abraham (peace be upon
him) was neither Jews, nor Christian, but he was Muslim.
After that, a useful message is delivered to Jews
and Christians that they should leave slavery of each other and submit
themselves collectively before Allah Almighty. If they do not believe in this
message, then Muslims should bind it in their knuckle and catch these
principles strongly with unity. They should set aside their personal quarrels
with each other. In this manner, they will become the best nation out of the
entire nations. Looking them, other people will begin to escape from evils and
choose good works.
Then Muslims are being directed towards Battle of Badr that, their victory was a very
powerful miracle of the Dignity of Allah Almighty. It was impossible to succeed
in this Battle without Support of Allah Almighty. Then it has been commanded
about unlawfulness of the interest/usury and to escape from it. Probably the
order about forbidding from usury has come here due to the reason that as the
Muslims gained in the Battle, likewise they will get advantage due to leaving
the interest. And the entire humankind will escape from ruin.
Then there is mention about the Battle of ‘Uhad. The loss, which was faced by
Muslims, that was due to non-implementation of the orders of Messenger (grace,
glory, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). Practices of the Hypocrites
is cursed, which they adopted in this Battle and thus it became reason of loss
of the Muslims and Islam.
The Muslims are being guided that path of life of
the Jews and Christians is untrue and objectionable, they should not follow it,
otherwise they will suffer. They should not be missed from the apparently
prosperous of Infidels. At last, their place is Hell. However, who will embrace
Islam and do good works, they will get remuneration. So have fear of God, in it
there is prosperity and success for you.

HOLY QUR’AN
Virtues Of Lord
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran - 3)
Verse

‘Alif-Laaam-Miiim.
2. ‘Allaahu laaa
‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyuum.
|
Lesson
Purpose to
reveal this verse is that a group of Christians from Najraan came to Messenger of Allah (grace, glory, blessings and
peace of Allah be upon him). These people were convinced about godhead of Jesus
(peace be upon him). They used to say him “son of God” (let us flee to God) and
believed in trinity. When the conversation began, Messenger of Allah (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon him) proved that Jesus (peace be upon him)
was a servant of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty is pure from it that He is
nourished in the womb of any woman, and after birth He eats and drinks like
common humankind, (I seek shelter of Allah Almighty from Satan the outcast).
Messenger of Islam (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) told that
belief of Christians is baseless in which they say, “Jesus (peace be upon him)
was hanged and died restlessly (let us flee to God).
Messenger
of Allah (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) said, “you do not know
that ‘Allaahu
laaa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa
Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyuum (Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal),
He can never die, He bestowed body to the entire creature. Contrary to Him
Jesus (peace be upon him) will certainly die, and it is clear that how can he
keep up other creature who cannot keep his own existence?
Listening
it, they all became silent. Then Messenger of Allah (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him) said, “if you have still any doubt then come, let us come
out bringing our children (yours’ and ours’) and supplicate from God Almighty,
“curse upon the liar”. They requested that they would reply after consultation
with each other. Accordingly, they consulted among themselves that, “this
person is Messenger of God (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), if
we shall oppose him in this manner, wrath of God will break in upon us. So it
is better for us to go back to our homes”. Therefore, they went back to Najraan.
‘Alif-Laaam-Miiim – (short verses), it was explained in LESSON # 15 of HOLY QUR’AAN (Surah AL-BAQARAH – 2 ABSOLUTE LETTERS
Verse – 1 of 286, section -1). To say something certainly about its meaning is
difficult. The saints have described different meanings. Well-known saying is
that ‘Alif-Laaam-Miiim is substance of ‘Ana-Allaahu ‘a’-lamu (I, Allah am the best Knower). In short, Allah
Almighty has rejected the beliefs of Christians in above-mentioned verse. Their
following three Articles of Faith were famous: (let us flee to God)
1.
Trinity (with the union of God, Jesus and Holy Spirit it
becomes God).
2.
Jesus (peace be upon him) is God. He has come in the shape of
humankind.
3.
Jesus (peace be upon him) is son of God.
The words ‘Allaahu laaa ‘ilaaha
‘illaa Hu vitiated the first article of faith. Then the words Hayyul-Qayyuum proved that
the second and third articles of faith are also wrong, because Jesus (peace be
upon him) was born from the womb of a woman. As though, he (peace be upon him)
was indigent of his mother for his birth. Moreover, while transitory is also
for him (peace be upon him), then he (peace be upon him) cannot be Qayyuum (the Eternal), so how can he (peace be upon him)
be Allah (God) Almighty?

Heavenly Scriptures
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran - 3)
Verse
– 3& 4 of 200, Section –1 (Part – 3)
3. He hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the
Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, even as
He revealed the Torah and the Gospel-
4. Aforetime, for a guidance to mankind; and
hath revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong). Lo! Those who disbelieve
the Revelations of Allah, theirs will be a heavy doom. And Allah is Requite
(the wrong).

|
Lesson
bil-Haqqi – (with truth), wisdom, knowledge, and justice is also entering
in the meaning of the word Haqq along with truth. That is to say; the Speech of Allah (Holy
Qur’an) is full of wisdom as well as on truth.
Musaddiqun – (a verifier, an affirmer, one who believes other), Holy Qur’an
is the Scripture, confirming that, which was revealed before it. It
acknowledges each Heavenly Book as on truth, and believes in the Prophets and
Messengers (peace be upon them) and their teachings from Allah Almighty.
‘al-Furqaan – (a standard of judging, the Criterion), it means that
specified discretion which is born between right and wrong. According to some
religious scholars, it aims the miracles, arguments and proofs which were
conferred to each Messenger/Prophet (peace be upon him). Furqaan is also the name of Holy Qur’an. Its literal meanings are
‘the Separator’, that is to say; the Separator of right and wrong, true and
false.
Allah
Almighty has commanded in this verse that “O Messenger! Holy Qur’an revealed to
you with truth and justice in accord with real wisdom and it has another
peculiarity that it confirms the Scripture, which was revealed before it like
Torah and Gospel etc. These Books used to guide the ancient people. Like this,
as though Allah Almighty told that the faith regarding Godhead of Jesus and being
son of God did not exist in any heavenly book, because according to the
principles of religion all Heavenly Books are unanimous.
Allah
Almighty revealed such proper things in every reign, which differentiate and
distinct between right and wrong, lawful and unlawful, true and false. At last,
He also commanded that the people who will deny believing in the verses of
Allah Almighty intentionally, He would punish them (certainly). He is
Overcoming, Requite and Perfect Capable to take revenge.

Refutation
Of Untrue Doctrines
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran - 3)
Verse
– 5& 6 of 200, Section –1 (Part – 3)
5. Lo! Nothing in the earth or in the heaven
is hidden from Allah.
6. He it is who fashioneth you in the wombs as

6.
Huwal-lazi yusaw-wirukum fil- ‘ar-haami kayfa
yashaaa’. Laaa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa
Huwal- ‘Azii-zul- Hakiim.
|
Lesson
Allah
Almighty admonished in the previous verse that He would punish those people who
will deny His verses. Moreover, it has been described in this verse that He has
Full knowledge about every thing. As His Authority is perfect, likewise His
Knowledge is very extensive. Nothing (big or small) can remain hidden for a
moment from His Knowledge in the earth and skies. He knows specified difference
of the entire goodness and sins. Where can a criminal go who wishes to hide him
running out?
It
manifested also from here that Jesus (peace be upon him) cannot be God because
he did not know such complete knowledge. He (peace be upon him) did know only
that, which was told by Allah Almighty to him. For refutation of godhead of
Jesus (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty described another Quality. That is to
say, “He it is who fashions you according to His Wisdom and Knowledge in the
wombs of mothers as pleases Him. There is no God save Him. He brings in to
being as He wishes - male or female, handsome or ill looking, clear-sighted or
blind, dumb or deaf. He causes to rise a human being from an ordinary drop of
seminal fluid and blood.” Therefore, how can he (peace be upon him) be called God who remained in the darkness of his
mother’s womb, eats, drinks, makes water and discharge from bowels.
The
Christians used to produce the proof that Jesus (peace be upon him) is God as
while there is no apparent father of him, then God is his father (let us flee
to Allah Almighty). They are being replied for their question in this verse.
That is to say’ Allah Almighty prepares the shape of mankind in the womb with
His Divine Power as He wishes, either through father and mother (both) or with
the power of mother only. Hence, He described the Virtues of ‘Azii-zul- Hakiim , that is to say’ He is Excelling, Owner of all strong Powers
and the Almighty, the Wise.
He created
Adam (peace be upon him) without father and mother, brought in to being his
(peace be upon him) wife without mother. Like this, He produced Jesus (peace be
upon him) without father. How can someone have doubt in the Wisdom and
Knowledge of such Creator, Master and Wise?

Clear And Allegorical Verses
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran - 3)
Verse

200, Section –1 (Part – 3)
He it is
who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear
Revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are)
allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which
is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None
knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction
say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of
understanding really heed.

Lesson
Muhkamaatun – (clear), those clear and apparent verses of Holy Qur’an,
objects of which are determined and there is no doubt in their meanings.
‘Ummul- Kitaabi – (the substance of the Book), substance of each
thing is called ‘Ummu. Here this fact
has been mentioned that those verses of Holy Qur’an, which are clear and obvious,
which have only one meaning, those are the substantial and touchstones.
Mutashaa-bih – (allegorical), that is such Speech, which have reciprocally
several matching meanings, it would be difficult to distinguish between them
and come out different points of view from its explanation. Only the religious
scholars may make difference between them. It is the duty of public to follow
the real scholars in the meanings of such verses. They should not rely on their
own senses.
‘al-laziina fii
quluubihim zay-gun – (those in whose hearts is doubt), it signifies towards
those nations who fixed some allegorical verses seeking (to cause) dissension and
by seeking to explain it as real, and by leaving behind guidance and teachings
of their Prophets (peace be upon them).
Clear And
Allegorical Verses
When
Christians of Najraan were rendered
helpless from all obvious arguments of the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon him), they said, “Hindmost you also believe in
Jesus (peace be upon him) as the Spirit of God and Word of Allah. It is
sufficient to prove our claim.” The reply of their useless objection has been
given here in a simple manner. Many dissensions and doubts can be dispelled
after understanding them.
Allah
Almighty commanded that there are two types of verses in Holy Qur’an and other
Heavenly Scripture like Torah and Gospel etc. 1. Those verse which have ‘known’ and ‘certain’
meanings. Such verse are called ‘aayaatum-Muhkamaatun and in fact root and essence of the entire
teachings of the Scripture are these verses. 2.
Name of the other type of verses is Mutashaa-bihaat. That is to say, some doubt happens in knowing
the meanings of such verses.
Correct
method is that meaning of the second type of verses should be seen in the light
of first type of verses. Which meanings seem opposite, those should be refuted.
If the meaning does not become manifest notwithstanding the attempt, even then he
should not cross the limits who seeks the meanings. No person is omniscient
that he may know every thing. He should remain silent thinking about his
knowledge. He should not issue the meanings with wrong method, which is against
universally accepted principles of religion and clear Revelations. For example,
Holy Qur’an has explained about Jesus (peace be upon him) ‘Inna huwa ‘illaa
‘abdun ‘An-‘am-naa ‘alay-hi (Indeed he is a servant only, to whom We favoured).
It guides us on another place, ‘Inna
masala ‘iisaa ‘indAllaahi
kamasali ‘Aadama khalaq-tahuu
min tu-raabin (Likeness of Jesus is just like Adam. Allah
created him from the earth). And it has also been proved at some other places
that Jesus (peace be upon him) is neither God, nor son of God.
Now if any
person runs behind resemblances of اللہکلمہ (KalmaHullaah) ‘The Word
of Allah’ and اللہ روح
(RuhUllaah) ‘The
Spirit of God’ etc. by closing his eyes from all these Muhkamaat. And
takes such superficial meanings, which are against the common explanation of
the Scripture, by leaving those meanings which are suitable to the clear
verses, he is surely obstinate and perverse. Some malevolent people want to
ensnare the people astray by misleading them. And some people who are weak in
their faith, wish to imply such Mutashaa-bihaat (allegorical verses) according to their own judgment and
will. Whereas only Allah Almighty Knows their true meanings.
Those
people who keep strong knowledge, they recognize the ‘aayaatum-Muhkamaat and Mutashaa-bihaat from Allah Almighty. They believe that the both types of
verses are revealed from the same source. Therefore, they try to understand Mutashaa-bihaat in the light of Muhkamaat and which part is out of their sense; they leave
it upon Allah Almighty because He is the best Knower. In short it is the duty
of a common person who has ordinary knowledge that he should not wrangle with Mutashaa-bihaat, which have more than one meaning. He should ask its meaning
from religious scholars, and which verses have clear meanings, he should act
corresponding to them without any kind of delay and Reluctance.

Supplications And Earnest Request
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran - 3)
Verse
– 8& 9 of 200, Section –1 (Part – 3)
8. Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray
after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo!
Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower.
9. Our Lord! Lo! It is Thou Who gatherest

9.

|
Lesson
laa tuzig – (cause not to stray), the word zay-gun has
come in the previous verse, which means doubt, crookedness. This word has also
come out from the same essence i.e. zay-gun. In the supplication of laa tuzig the servant of Truth requests, “Cause not our
hearts to stray while once You have guided us and we have found the Right Path”.
Prophet of
Allah (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) used to supplicate often
this benediction despite having so much higher grades and splendid perfections,
“Yaa Muqal-libal quluubi Sabbit qalbii ‘alaa
Diinika” (O Converter of the hearts! Keep my heart steady upon Your
Religion).
The
Erudite know that such Day will come when Allah Almighty will gather all the
humankind together. The crooked heart persons who used to quarrel in precepts,
decision will be settled for all. Every criminal will have to settle with
punishment due to his crossness in manners and obstinacy. Due to this reason,
the well learned persons remain disgusted from such unprincipled persons and
remain seekers of mercy of Allah Almighty.
Allah
Almighty described the end of Infidels along with mention of Doomsday that
nothing in the world and Day of Resurrection can save them from the punishment
of Allah Almighty. The Christian scholars of Najraan did not use to embrace Islam only for the reason that the
Christian King would stop to reward them distinguishing gifts in case of their
embracing Islam. It has been told here that all these wealth and property are
accidental and nothing out of it will be of use on the Day of Resurrection.
Therefore, those people who do not believe in Islam for the sake of only
worldly wealth and property or honor and dignity, they should comprehend and
recognize that wealth, property or mass would not be able to save them from
torment.
The entire
promises of Allah Almighty are true and He keeps His Word always. Therefore,
each person should continue doing good acts with complete certainty of the
parts of deeds.

Lesson
The
Infidels and Idolaters have been warned in the first verse of this lesson that
as ancient nations were punished for their infidelity and plurality in Oneness
of God, just like them you will be punished also for such sins.
This verse
signifies towards Pharaoh and the nations earlier to him that they falsified
the Prophets (peace be upon them) sent by Allah Almighty, refused His tokens
and disobeyed His Orders. Allah Almighty arrested them in punishment for these
all sins and punished them severely. Therefore, one should take warning from
those ancient nations, and present Infidels and Idolaters should abstain from
perverseness. It has been predicted in the second verse that all those Infidels
who are enemies of Allah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him), will be overcome soon. The Muslims will defeat them.
After being punishable in this world, they will be cast fuel in to the splendid
Fire of Hell, which is certainly an evil resting-place (very bad place).

Lesson
Allah
Almighty has signified towards an event for the people who take warning with
impossible happenings. This event is notorious with the name “Battle of Badr”. Encounter took place between
Muslim Army and Idolaters of Al-Makkah
at this occasion. Succor of Allah Almighty reached Muslims, and True and False
(Haqq o Baatil) were separated.
Number of
Infidels was nearly one thousand in the Battle of Badr. They had seven hundred camels and one hundred horses. Their
warriors were much experienced and skilled in fighting. On the other hand,
Muslim warriors were three hundred and thirteen only. They had only seventy
camels, two horses, six chain armors and eight swords. Both Armies saw one
another as twice their number, clearly, with their very eyes. The fear of abundance
in number of the Muslims prevailed over the hearts of Infidels and they
terrified.
On the
other side, the Muslims turned more attention to Allah Almighty due to looking
the Infidels’ Army twice in numbers from them. They kept hope of victory and
support with firmness and stability placing confidence in the promise of Allah
Almighty. If number of Infidels’ Army did appear in full upon Muslims, which
were thrice in number from them, then it was possible that the fear had to
overshadow upon them. However, it is an admonitory event for the discreet
people to render the small and without means group victorious over such strong
group likewise which was thrice in number from them. On that day the prediction
was completed which was told to the Muslims many years ago in Al-Makkah.
We have
learnt from this lesson that real thing is patience and trust in Allah Almighty,
not abundance of weapons, equipment and manpower. We should have faith in Allah
Almighty in all difficulties and pray Him for support, because entire success
and victories are in His Hand.
It is not
only one event in the Islamic History like this, which has been signified in
this verse i.e. the Battle of Badr. But
whenever the truth loving have come out with this passion and fervor in the
field to sacrifice, victory of Allah Almighty has remained with them of similar
circumstances.

Lesson
Zuyyina linnaasi – (beautified for the humankind), it has been told in this
verse that love, inclination and attraction of these things is a natural matter
and in itself there is no sin. However, advantage from these things should be
reaped remaining in the subjection of the orders of Divine and their love
should be kept limited in the lawful limits.
hubbush-shahawaati – (love of the joys), shahawaat signifies here towards desirable and pleasant things. In this
manner it means “Wishes and desires”.
mataa-‘ul-hayyatid-dunyaa – (provision of the life of the world), it intends that all
these types of things are not able to be amused very much. These should not be
formed as purpose of life. These are useful only in this world. The world is
transitory and its all arrangements are mortal also.
Allah
Almighty has affirmed that some worldly things have attraction from His Side
naturally for the human being. Humankind likes these things very much. But many
people involve themselves in them so much that they forget their Creator, their
Lord. There is no sin in itself to value these things. These are compulsory
things for living in the world. It is not bad to reap benefit from them but
care is necessary that inclination towards them should not be more than
necessity. Because doing so the human being will become overjoyed into them.
Slowly he will consider them purpose of life and forget his goal. He will miss
the right path.
It should
be borne in mind that these things are transitory. These are useful only in the
world. Relationship with them will cut immediately after death. Therefore, one
should arrange also for the Day of Resurrection keeping them at their correct
place. Real Abode is there (after death) and permanence is for that life.

Future Reward For the Pious
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse

Say:
Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who keep away from
evil, with their Lord, are Gardens underneath which rivers flow wherein they will
abide for ever, and pure companions, and goodwill of Allah. And Allah is Seer
of His Bondmen.

Lesson
‘a-‘unabbi-‘ukum – (Shall I inform you?), this word has come out from the word nabaa’ which means the News. Word Nabii is also made out of it, literal
meaning of which is ‘an informer’.
mutah-haratun – (pure, neat), that is to say; innocent, pure and clean from each
type of corporeal nastiness and filth.
That abode
and its characteristics have been described in this lesson, which was mentioned
in the previous verse. Allah Almighty says that best of the blessings is
reserved for the Abstinent. All excellence of Hereafter are for them only.
Blessings
of the world like wealth, children, husbandry and livestock all are fickle and inconstant.
These are to be neither trusted nor reliable. To exult into them and make
purpose of life to achieve these things after forgetting Allah Almighty is not
wise. The benefit should be reaped according to Divine Law and remaining within
the boundaries. One should be afraid of the disobedience of Allah Almighty always
and His anguish, and should adopt the way of God fearing, because Allah
Almighty has promised for those righteous people to give them such a beautiful Garden,
in which there will be cold and sweet water flows. They will find there good
and pious wives, and life of eternity. Best of all they will get pleasure and
consent of Allah Almighty, with which they will get satisfaction of their
hearts, comfort and happiness. Only Abstinent people would be able to get these
blessings.
At last,
Allah Almighty related, that He watches every person’s intention and acts.
Nothing even the most little thing is not hidden from Him. Therefore, we should
be careful, pass our lives righteously and hope for getting reward of our goods
acts.

# 336 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Virtues Of Pious Persons
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse
– 16 & 17 of 200, Section –2 (Part – 3)
16. Those who say: Our Lord! Lo! we believe, so
forgive us our sins and guard us from the punishment of Fire.
17. The steadfast, and the truthful, and the
obedient, and those who spend (and hoard not), and those who pray for pardon
in the watches of the night.
|
16. ‘Allaziina yaquuluuna

qinaa ‘azaaban-Naar.
17.
‘As-Saabiriina
was-Saadi-qiina wal-
Qaanitiina wal-Munfiqiina wal-Mustagfiriina bil- ‘as-haar.
|
Lesson
bil- ‘as-haar – (in the watches of the night), Sahar is the time when darkness of night mingles with the light of
dawn. This last part of night has the characteristic that particularly this
time is the time for satisfying and awakening of the spiritual powers, although
it is difficult for oneself to awake at that time.
Virtues of
those people have been described in the verse who were called the pious persons
and “those who keep away from evil, with
their Lord, are Gardens underneath which rivers flow wherein they will abide
for ever, and pure companions, and goodwill of Allah”. These good manners
are appended below:
1.
These people use to become pattern of humility and meekness instead
of being proud and arrogance on their piety and sobriety. They always pray from
Allah, “O Lord, forgive our sins and save us from the Fire of Hell”.
2.
These people remain in patience. Whenever they are put in an
exam, they beg from Allah Almighty to bestow them constancy and steadfastness.
3.
These people are honest in their sayings, heart and
intentions. They are pure in matters, straightforward, abstinent from lie, deceit
and hypocrisy.
4.
They remain stick to obey the commands of Allah Almighty despite
undergoing through very hardships; avoid committing evils and hating from wrong
acts and sins.
5.
They spend from the wealth given by Allah Almighty on His
determined times, do not be stingy and miser. They take part actively in
charitable donations and do not waste any situation of goodness.
6.
They pray for pardon of their sins and errors from their Lord
awakening in the last part of night. That is to say; they spend last part of
night in worship and likewise they remain seekers of forgiveness of sins sincerely.
We should try to create these qualities inside
ourselves so that we may also join the pious people and could deserve blessings
of Allah Almighty.

God Is Witness Himself That He Is Allah
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse
– 18 of
200, Section –2 (Part – 3)
Allah
(Himself) is witness that there is no God save Him, and the angels and the
men of learning (too are witness), maintaining His creation with justice.
There is no God save Him the Almighty, the Wise.

|
Lesson
Shahi-dallaahu – (Allah is witness), this evidence of Allah Almighty has been using
to come regularly in the Heavenly Scriptures. Besides this, every particle of the
universe is testifying that none is worthy of worship save Lord of the entire
worlds. Testimony of Divine’s Scriptures has prestige of written evidence and the
entire things of earth and sky (universe) provide reasonable evidence. As though,
both types of proofs exist (logical and written).
al-malaaa-‘ikatu - (Angles), it means that the Angles (peace be upon
them) also testify that none is worthy of worship save Allah Almighty. As though
it has been cleared too that the Angels (themselves) (peace be upon them) sing
the songs of Oneness of Allah Almighty, who are considered by the Idolater
Nations as gods and goddesses.
‘ulul-‘ilmi - (the men of learning, the educated, the scholars),
‘ilm means to know and understand. Knowledge is not only the name
of learning the letters and reading the books, but it is the name of knowing
the facts of things and cognition of the reality. Either it is by meditation or
by experiments and observations. Therefore, ‘ulul-‘ilmi means those educated people who have capability
to know about the facts and ability to recognize.
In the beginning
of this verse, Christians of Syria (Najraan)
were addressed, and it was proclaimed in a very well manner about Oneness of
God and by proving to be wrong the faith of divinity of the Christ. Other matters were also discussed at that time
which prevent from believing in Oneness of Allah Almighty, for example, wealth,
children and the things of luxurious enjoyment. Then attributes of the
Believers were described, who remain firm on Right despite all these obstacles.
After this, discussion about Oneness has begun again.
What
difficulty can be occurring to believe in Oneness while Allah Almighty (Himself)
is witness through His work (Nature) besides His Scriptures that only He is worthy
to be worshiped. Besides this His Angles (peace be upon them) and the men of
learning also testify about Oneness of Allah Almighty. Not having belief in
Oneness and standing firm on belief in a plurality of Allah is clearly Ignorance.
Allah
Almighty has explained by telling His Virtue, “qaaa-‘imam- bil-qist” (maintaining His creation with justice) that the
talk about Expiation by Christians is untrue, because how can it be possible
that only one person is settled responsible for the sins of the entire
community and he causes to be released them all by being punished alone. On the
contrary, Allah Almighty maintains His creation with justice. He will confer
complete retaliation of the acts (good or bad) of each person.
LESSON
# 338 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Islam
Is Real Religion
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse
– 19a of
200, Section –2 (One Half of Part
– 3)
Lo!
religion with Allah (is) the Surrender (Al-Islam) (to His Will and Guidance).
|
‘Innad-Diina
‘indallaahil- ‘Islaam.
|
Lesson
‘al- ‘Islaam – ( believing in the religion of Allah, obedience), literal
meaning of Islam is ‘to deliver oneself over’. Due to this respect this
religion causes to say Islam, because a Muslim affirms to bow his neck before
the orders of Allah Almighty and entrust himself completely to One Most High
God Almighty, as though Islam is the name of “Accepting” and Muslim-hood (Mussulmani) as “Obedience).
Diinun – This word has two meanings,
a. Retaliation
b. Religion
It means
that method of meditation and action which is foundation for consideration and
deeds of a person and nation. The Way of life which Allah Almighty has liked
for His servants (Human beings), that is Islam, that is to say; subjection and
obedience, whose perfect and last form clarifies in the world by Prophet Muhammad
(grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
In reality,
all former Prophets (peace be upon them) brought the same religion named Islam.
But in this regard which perfect in all respect, collective and universal commands
and guidelines have been delivered by the last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace,
glory, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), those have preference in many
ways from ancient religious laws. Therefore, these were called with the name of
Islam in a special color. However, it has been proclaimed in this verse before
specially Christians of Syria (Najraan)
and commonly before the entire world that religion is only the name of one
thing, that is, the person should surrender himself to Allah Almighty whole
heartedly, and whatever order is delivered by Him, he should obey it without
any hesitation.
Now those people
who say the Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) as son of Allah Almighty
(Let us flee to Allah), eat pork, slaughter the Prophets (peace be upon them), try
to remove the true religion despite the good news from Prophet Moses and Jesus (peace
be upon them), envy the true Prophet (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon
them), Have these people any right to say themselves followers of religion of
Abraham (peace be upon them)?
For
perfect example good attitude of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him), auspicious
lives of Prophet Christ and Moses (peace be upon them) and in the last, very
sacred life of last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah be
upon him) are complete role models for the humankind. Banishment of Prophet
Abraham (peace be upon him), opposing Nimrud, leaving alone his (peace be upon
them) innocent child and wife in the wilderness and without water valley for pleasure
of Allah Almighty, being prepared to sacrifice his (peace be upon them) son Ishmael
in the Way of Allah Almighty. All these things enlighten his (peace be upon him)
activeness for pleasure of Allah Almighty.
Enduring
torture of enemies of God Almighty by the Messenger of Islam (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon him), migrating from his native land, fighting in the
Path of Allah Almighty, clarify perfect subjection and obedience. These are the
great and holy persons, who are imitable for human beings in all respect and to
follow them is called Islam and obedience. May Allah Almighty make us able to
do so. Aameen.

Verse
– 19b of

them, through transgression among themselves. And whoso disbelieveth the
Revelations of Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is Swift at reckoning.

Lesson
It has
been manifested in the previous lesson that Islam is a bright and clear Truth. From
which kind of arguments Messenger-hood of Prophet Moses, Jesus (peace be upon
them), Torah and Gospel as Heavenly Scripture can be proved, better than it,
strong and live proofs exist regarding Messenger-hood of Prophet Muhammad
(grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him) and The Word
Of Allah i.e Holy Qur’an. But their own Scriptures are giving evidence about
the truth of Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah
Almighty be upon him).
Oneness of
God Almighty is an obvious and understood subject. Contrary to Oneness,
Ideology of Father and Son (God and Jesus) is only a meaningless thing. No
scientific principle corroborates it. Now those persons, who believe in any one
of the four Inspired Holy Books of Allah Almighty, falsify these conspicuous
facts. If due to enmity of Islam they disobey the commands of Allah Almighty,
then what can we say more about them that they are doing so due to only
opposite, envy, obstinacy, greediness of rank and grandeur.
The
dissension took place between the Christians and Jews or many sects raised out
of them. Then the adversity put to end on reciprocal terrifying quarrels and
wars. The history tells that its purpose was not only misunderstanding or
ignorance. But at most times these sectarian contradictions grew due to love of
wealth and property.
Those
people who deny the orders of Allah Almighty, their punishment has also been
told, that is to say; Allah Almighty will reckon these bad acts and mischief.
And He will punish them severely. They will have to face the punishment in this
world as well as on the Day of Resurrection.
Cause of
such severe punishment is their enmity and disobedience. Woe is me that they
differed at that time when the Knowledge came before them and the Reality disclosed.
They did not join the truth when the reality was clear. But they opposed also
the just due to only mutual opposite and enmity. The verses of Allah Almighty
came before them, but they closed their eyes and went to the path of infidelity
and denial. They forgot that, “Allah is Swift at reckoning”.

The Duty Of Prophet Is Only To Convey The Message
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse
– 20 of
200, Section –2 (Part – 3)
And if
they argue with thee, (O Muhammad), say: I have surrendered my purpose to
Allah and (so have) those who follow me. And say unto those who have rejected
the Scripture and those who read not: Have ye (too) surrendered? If they
surrender, then truly they are rightly guided, and if they turn away, then it
is thy duty only to convey the message (unto them). And Allah is Seer of

Basiirum- bil-‘ibaad.
|
Lesson
‘al-‘ummiy-yiina – (those who can not read, illiterate persons), here it aims
the Idolaters of Al-Makkah, who did
not know about the Heavenly Scriptures. Thus, except some counted persons all
habitants of this sacred city were illiterate and ignorant.
‘al-balaag – (to convey (the message), intent from this word is to comfort
the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon
him), that “if these people do not believe, then you should not be thoughtful.
Your job is to convey the message and invite only. It is not your
responsibility to cause them to believe”.
The
followers of the Scripture used to wrangle that “we are also Muslims”. They are
being described in this verse that likewise hypothetical Islam is useless.
Islam is that, which is held with the Last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and his followers ((may Allah Almighty
be pleased upon them). That is to say, the humankind should handover himself to
Islam with the whole. Look at Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of
Allah Almighty be upon him), the refugees (Muhajirin)
and habitants of Al-Madinah (Ansaar) (may Allah Almighty be pleased
upon them). They sacrificed themselves, their wealth, children and wives, to
the extent their entire desired and beloved things for the pleasure of Allah
Almighty confronting the polytheism, immorality, wickedness and tyranny. Their
eyes wait each time for the command of Allah Almighty that no sooner they
receive any order, than they obey it. Contrary to them, look at yourselves; while
you are alone, you accept that the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon him) is on the right path. Nevertheless, you think,
“if we believe in his Messenger-hood, the wealth and property of the world is
snatched”. Anyhow, after knowing the truth if you will not believe, that is
your will, we have already believed.
After that
the Idolaters are told, “Have you surrendered too or ready to surrender? If you
surrender even now, then truly you are rightly guided, and if you turn away,
then it is our duty only to preach Islam, to teach you distinction between good
and bad, and to convey the message of Allah Almighty unto you. Allah Almighty
knows internal and external circumstances of all”.

Tricks Of Of Infidels
Surah
‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse
– 21 & 22 of 200, Section –3 (Part – 3)
21. Lo! those who disbelieve the Revelations of
Allah, and slay the Prophets wrongfully, and slay those of mankind who enjoin
equity; promise them a painful doom.
22. Those are they whose works have come to
naught in the world and the Hereafter; and they shall have no helpers.

|
Lesson
ya’-muruuna bil-qisti – (who enjoin equity), that is to say they guide the people for
morality, manners and courtesy, preach for justice in mutual matters and are
their true companions.
The
Christians of Najraan (Syria) and
other Infidels are being told in this verse that it is very big tyranny to
fight against the Messengers (peace be upon them), other pious and Just loving
persons, to quarrel with the religious advisers and slaughter them with cruelty
being non-believers in Allah Almighty. They will be punished severely.
It has
been known from a Saying of the Prophet of Allah Almighty (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon him) that the children of Israel martyred 43 (forty
three) Prophets (peace be upon them) and 170 (one hundred seventy) righteous
persons in a day and likewise they were counted in the list of criminals. Holy
Qur’an is presenting these entire happenings for the purpose that those who say
themselves the obedient of Allah Almighty should meditate that how much their
ancestors were evil-doers. Deprive will be for them in this world and Hereafter.
Their entire deeds will be of no avail and they will also be punished severely
on the Day of Resurrection, and they will find there no companion or helper.
There are
many things for our admonition in these events. We should escape ourselves
completely from those sins and evils (crimes) which were committed by the past
nations, so that the punishment in which they were arrested, that would not be
revealed upon us. It is necessary for us that we should not disobey the orders
of Allah Almighty, should not oppress the pious and righteous. Moreover, we
should remain on the Straight Path so that we may be successful in this world
as well as on the Day of Resurrection.
