Refractoriness of Disbelievers -1

Surah Baniii ‘Israaa-‘iil (The Children of Israel) – 17

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

90.  And they say: We will not put faith in thee till thou cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us-

91.  Or thou have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth therein abundantly-

92a.  Or thou cause the heaven to fall upon us piecemeal, as thou hast pretended,
90.  Wa  qaaluu  lan-nu’-mina  laka  hattaa  taf-jura  lanaa  minal-‘arzi  yambuu-‘aa.

91.  ‘Aw  takuuna  laka  janna-tum-min-nakhiilinw-wa  ‘inabin  fa-tufajjiral-‘anhaara  khilaala-haa  taf-jiiraa.

92a.  ‘Aw  tusqitas-samaaa-‘a  kamaa  za-‘amta  ‘alaynaa  kisa-fan

Commentary

Taf-jura – (you cause to gush forth), origin of this word is fa-ja-ra. Fajara means “to split, to bring out another thing from a thing by tearing it”.

Tufajjira means “you should cause to gush forth (from many places of the earth)”. It has been derived from the word tafjiir, origin of which is the same as mentioned above, but meaning of “abundant” are found in it, that is to say, “many canals should begin to flow naturally after gushing the springs forth from various places of the land”.

Kisa-fan – (piecemeal, piece by piece), this word is plural of kisfatun. It means “a piece; which has been separated by breaking from another thing, a cut piece”.

Za-‘amta – (you pretended), it is past tense from the word za-‘ama, which means “to lay claim, to say strongly, to presume”. Here it aims “that warning of Holy Qur’an which exists in its verses”.

The idolaters of Makkah said: We shall believe in You {O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} at that time when, either You will show us at the spot; a spring gushing forth before us from the land by splitting it, or implant a garden of date-palms and grapes and cause to flow canals into it unto every side instantly, or as You say usually; You should cause the heaven to fall upon our heads piecemeal just now.

Commentary

The greatest grace of Allah Almighty is that He collected Summary of the entire teachings of the entire Prophets (peace be upon them) in Holy Qur’an, and then after sending His Chosen Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), He manifested the Way of Practice wholly upon it for mankind. It will be utmost carelessness of the mankind if he does not value this graciousness perfectly.

Remember it that if the Holy Qur’an is taken away from the world, then making any collective law, as it has been mentioned in Holy Qur’an, will not be in the control of any mankind. Not only one person, but if the entire human beings of the entire world assemble at any place and along with them, if the entire jinn also come to help them and they all help one of another collectively and try their best to make any law like this, even then it is impossible to prepare Qur’an as It is.

After that, it is commanded: We have collected all useful matters in this Qur’an and expounded all kinds of similitudes repeatedly and clearly, so that there should remain no doubt in any matter. But most of the people have armed to reject the Holy Qur’an with their power, and they have determined to remain entangled in their confusions.

87.  ‘Illaa  Rahmatam-mir-Rabbik.  ‘Inna  FazlaHuu  kaana  ‘alayka  kabiiraa.

Commentary

‘Allaziii  ‘aw-hay-Naaa  ‘ilayka (that which We have revealed unto thee), the aim from it is Holy Qur’an and the Commandments mentioned in it.

It was described in the previous verse that the Spirit is an Exhibition of Intention and Power of Allah Almighty. In this verse it has been narrated that the Power of Allah Almighty is endless and boundless. Every thing comes into existence by His Command and nothing can stop this process.

It is being commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessing and peace be upon him) that if Allah Almighty willed He could withdraw within a moment that which He taught to His Messenger by means of Divine Revelation. Then the Messenger (grace, glory, blessing and peace be upon him) would not find any such person who might take responsibility of bringing this all back again.

Allah Almighty says: This entire is in Our Power but We shall not do so, because certainly many people will get guidance from the Holy Qur’an and they will succeed in the Religion and in the world by obeying its commandments, and you will be rewarded with good retribution of conveying it. And Allah Almighty will bestow you great and higher ranks. And it is great kindness of Allah Almighty upon you that He appointed you for the guidance of the entire human beings. And He did not disappoint you from the grade of “A Guide” due to outcries of some refractory people. And He did not deprive you of causing to know the Straight Path to the wise people.

Found from this verse is that as the Spirit is by the Command of Allah Almighty, like the same; its excellences are also by His Command and bestowed by Him. Nothing is own of anybody.

Commentary

Holy Qur’an has explained very clearly about those matters for understanding of the mankind, which are necessary for living in the world, and along with it, it has also been kept in view that the End of the human being should not be spoiled due to being entangled in the world. Some are such things; understanding about which is neither necessary for practical life of common people and nor they have so much sense that they may get to the bottom of those matters.

Therefore, describing about them with full detail is equal to put the common people in confusion, and not only this but those special people also could not untie the knot of these matters by their sense only who have tried their best to know about them entirely. However, sense of those particular people, who looked in the light of Divine’s Inspiration, they surely have at least understood by which their hearts have been satisfied. Otherwise, being involved in these critical matters, a common man can acquire nothing at the end save it that he is called by the title “a Philosopher”. But in fact he understands nothing save dialogues only.

To ensnare in the same dispute, the Jews said to the people of Makkah that they should ask from the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): What is the Spirit? In this verse, it has been replied to their question: Say to them! You see some creatures living, in which the human being is included also. They can move and work with their will. This life is a power, which enters into them by the Command of Allah Almighty and they begin to be called “living being”. And when the Spirit comes out then they fell down being dead. It is the Spirit. It is sufficient for your knowledge that “the Spirit” is “the Command” of God Almighty. To whom He orders, he can move and do all works with his intention. Knowledge more than it is neither necessary for your practical works and nor it has been given to you. You should continue trying to do good works and should not be entangled in this perplexity.

Commentary

Na-‘aa – (is averse), origin of this word is na’-yun, which means “driven away, to be removed, to be dispelled”. Na-‘aabi-jaanibih – (he withdrew).

Ya-‘uusun – (the person who has been hopeless), ya-‘a-sa means “hopelessness”.

Shaakilatun – (manner, behavior, rule of conduct), the thing which fixes the form of any other thing. It aims that in the nature of every human being; one such thing is hidden which determines the form of his works and way of his working. On this account; his intention, method, way of working, religion and character etc. all of them have been established.

At first it was commanded: Holy Qur’an is the biggest Favor of Allah Almighty for the mankind in the world. Now it is commanded: It is misfortune of the human being that by being entangled in temporary worldly benefits and being deceived by Satan, he becomes dull of understanding. He tries to run away from Holy Qur’an. But when any calamity comes upon him, then he becomes hopeless and does not know that whom should he approach and what should he do, because he did not make relationship with Allah Almighty which might be a support for him as a good engagement. The mankind has been empowered that he can do whatsoever he desires. At the end, on a Day Allah Almighty will judge that who was at right path and who wronged himself. But He is Best Aware of every individual’s rule of conduct.

Spending time in fulfilling evil desires

Surah Baniii ‘Israaa-‘iil (The Children of Israel) – 17

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

82.  And We reveal in the Qur’an that which is a Healing and a Mercy for Believers and it increase the evildoers in naught save ruin.
82.  Wa  Nu-nazzilu  minal-Qur-‘aani  maa  huwa  Shifaaa-‘unw-wa  Rahmatul-lil-Mu’-miniina,  wa  laa  yaziiduz-zaalimiina  ‘illaa  khasaaraa.

Commentary

Maximum Human beings destroy their time in fulfilling their evil desires. Consequently they get nothing but sorrow and bashfulness. Then they would observe that by running behind the wishes of the heart wildly; they had been suffering from many diseases, treatment of which did exist in the world, but in the Hereafter; no cure would be available. These diseases will be as much painful by which they will be grieving for ever because of internal pain and suffering. And they will never die so they will never find peace after death.

The intention has been drawn unto the matter in this verse that by being involved in the sin; perhaps a mankind may get immediate temporary pleasure but it will affect the heart badly. If one has been fascinated of relishes then it will cause him to suffer from different secret diseases, consequence of which will be deadly doom. Treatment of these diseases exists in Holy Qur’an, which has been sent in the world as a Healing and Mercy for the mankind, on the condition that he should believe in its commandments, and in accordance with its guidance, he should observe temperateness from his desires. He should never be slave of them, but lay hold of them and become master over them and manage according to Religious Law.

It is commanded: O mankind! Open your eyes and see! How much good things have been filled in Holy Qur’an? Obey its commands and then look! It will heal you from entire secret disorders and hidden diseases. Those all matters exist in it which; for the Believers; provide elixir to cure every disease. And it does not leave any such disease in the body which may ruin them for ever at the end. But if someone does not meditate in the commands of Holy Qur’an and pays no attention, then he is like that patient who does not care the sayings of the doctor; but grips up his loins to oppose him. How the doctor’s advice can be beneficial for him in such circumstances? At last, he would have to abandon from his health helplessly.

A sustaining power - Quran Chapter 17 – 80 & 81 (Pt-15, Stg-4) (L-1835) درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 17  80 & 81 (Pt-15, Stg-4) (L-1835) درس قرآن

A sustaining power

Surah Baniii ‘Israaa-‘iil (The Children of Israel) – 17

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

80.  And say: My Lord! Cause me to come in with a firm incoming and to go out with a firm outgoing and give me from Thy Presence a sustaining Power.

81.  And say: Truth hath come and Falsehood hath vanished away. Lo! Falsehood is ever bound to vanish.
80.  Wa  qur-Rabbi  ‘adkhil-nii  Mudkhala  Sidqinw-wa  ‘akhrijnii  Mukhraja  Sidqinw-waj-‘al-lii  mil-ladunKa  sultaanan-nasiiraa.

81.  Wa  qul  jaaa-‘al-Haqqu  wa  zahaqal- Baatil.  ‘Innal- Baatila  Kaana  zahuuqaa.

Commentary

Mudkhala and Mukhraja – both words have come out from ‘idkhaal (to cause to come in) and ‘ikhraaj (to cause to go out), which are active verbs from the words – dakhuul (entrance, admission) and khuruuj (egress, issue).

Sidqin – (firm, steady, constant, honor), its meaning has been explained in the beginning of Surah Yuunus (Chapter 10).

In the Truth, these both matters exist i.e. Mudkhala  Sidqin (a firm incoming, in which there is respect and honor) and Mukhraja  Sidqin (a firm outgoing, in which there is no disgrace).

Sultaanun – (Power, superiority, authority), meaning of this word has been explained in the fourth Section of the same Chapter.

Zahaqa – (vanished away), it is a past tense from the word zahaqun, which means “to vanish away, to disappear and to be lazy). The word zahuuqun is an adjective also from the same, which means “to come to an end gradually being weak”.

It is commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that he should say: My Lord! In which place or work You cause me to come, admit me with perseverance, respect and honor, and whence You cause me to go out, cause to release me from that work or place without disgrace, and give me as much sustaining power; by which I may gain my end.

Therefore, Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) went from Makkah firmly and satisfactorily; and entered in Madinah as a great respectable and honorable person. Then He obtained the mastery over his enemies. His Government was established and he got opportunity of announcing these words successfully: Truth hath come and Falsehood hath vanished away. Lo! Falsehood is ever bound to vanish.

Those entire sayings were fulfilled which were proclaimed at that time when no one could think that it might be. It is the strongest Proof of Holy Qur’an’s Truth.
