‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

57.  Lo! Those who go in awe for fear of their Lord –

58.  And those who believe in the Revelations of their Lord –

59.  And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord –

60.  And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord.

61.  These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race.
57.  ‘Innallaziina  hum-min  khashyati  Rabbihim-mushfiquun.

58.  Wallaziina  hum-  bi- ‘Aayaati  Rabbihim  yu’-minuun.

59.  Wallaziina  hum-  bi- Rabbi-him  laa  yush-rikuun.

60.  Wallaziina  yu’-tuuna  maaa  ‘aataw-wa  quluubuhum  wajila-tun  ‘annahum  ‘ilaa  Rabbihim  raaji-‘uun.

61.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ika  yusaari-‘uuna  fil-khayraati  wa  hum  lahaa  saabiquun.

Commentary

mushfiquuna – (they are struck with fear), it is the Subject from the word ‘ishfaaq, origin of which is shafaq. Shafaqatun means “restlessness due to thought about someone else”. ‘Ishfaaq means “welfare of any other and fear of his displeasure”.

Wajila-tun – (Afraid), this word is feminine of wajilun, which is an adjective. This word has passed in Chapter Fifteen (Suratul-Hijr).

If those mischievous people, who sow dissension in the religion, are prosperous, then they should not consider that Allaah Almighty has given them this prosperity, wealth and property being pleased. But purpose of bestowing these things is to test them. There is no goodness in it itself. Those people who have been collecting benefits quickly, they are such people in whom following signs are found:

1.  They tremble due to fear of Allaah Almighty in all conditions.

2.  Their Belief becomes stronger after observing the portents of Allaah Almighty.

3.  They do not ascribe any partner unto Allaah Almighty.

4.  They pay the poor-due, give alms and charity, and sacrifice for the welfare of others. Even then they fear in hearts that they would have to be present in the Court of Allaah Almighty. They think: Any of our good deed is nothing. If the mercy of Allaah Almighty is upon us then we shall tide over the difficulties.

Such people race for doing good works and they will succeed ultimately.

Commentary

Taqatta-‘uuu – (they broke), it is past tense from the word “taqatta-‘un, which has passed in Chapter Two (Suratul-Baqarah).

‘Amrahum – (their religion), here “’amr” means “religion”.

Zuburan – (into pieces, into sects), this word is plural of zubratun, which means “a piece of anything”.

Gamratun – (deep water), here it aims “carelessness, negligence or senselessness, stupefaction, which surrounds from all around.

It is commanded: The Religion of the entire mankind was one, but due to being entangled in their selfishness, the people were divided into different sects. And every group chose a separate religion for themselves. Now they have been strutting on the religion which they have chosen separately, because they consider that “It is my own thing”. They are ignorant who do not understand that by being of anything own, it does not become correct and advantageous. But they are brimful in carelessness. So you should leave them in their error till a time. They will not awake from the dream of negligence without death or any severe misfortune. Do they consider that, which We have been providing them wealth and sons, is a sign that We like them? It is a misunderstanding of those careless people. It is for the reason that they are being tested fully. If they did not stand then they would be punished severely.

Islam is a very easy Religion - Quran Chapter 23: 51 & 52 (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2169) درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 23: 51 & 52 (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2169) درس قرآن

Islam is a very easy Religion

Chapter Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) - 23

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

It is found from these verses that purpose of sending the Messengers (peace be upon them) in the world is to spread the Human Religion, which is a very easy Religion. If the sense is working correctly then there can happen no difficulty in its understanding and adopting. The Messengers (peace be upon them) have been instructed that they should show the people themselves as becoming a Model Role of the Religion, even that it should become obvious upon the human beings that their goodness is in it that they all should agree collectively to obey the Messengers (peace be upon them). They should understand it carefully that the entire human beings are subject to only one Religion and consequently they are one Nation. For this purpose the Messengers (peace be upon them) have been guided concerning their conduct with the human beings, by which they may become for the people a practical pattern of living in the world.

It is commanded: For this purpose you have to do three works:

1.  At first, you have to choose lawful, clear and pure ways for acquiring necessities of life, so that everything of use should be lawful; clear and pure in all respect. If you will choose bad ways then whatever will you get by them, that will be unlawful. First requirement for the mankind is food and drinkable things. For this purpose, it has been instructed that these things should be lawful, legitimate, good, agreeable and pure. And these things will be lawful then when there is no fear of harm in their taking. Secondly, in acquiring of those things, no one is oppressed in any matters. Under the same restrictions, other things of necessity, wealth and property etc. should be realized in the mind.

2.  Your behavior in dealings should be good. No such way or thing should be chosen, by which there is fear of injury to oneself or any other. Abide by the rules of justice and equity in every matter whether that is little or great! Good deed is that by which none is injured and no interruption occurs in convenience, peace and safety of any person.

3.  Explain before the people that these entire things can be achieved completely at that time when you believe in Allaah Almighty. Understand it carefully that He has full knowledge of your every work. And He will punish to every evildoer. Therefore, before doing any work, you should think that whether The Lord, Who is Aware of every visible and invisible thing and Who knows every good and bad, will not be displeased from oneself and will He not punish due to wrong deeds?

Above mentioned three points are principles of the Religion, on which all people should be united. After that, there will be no quarrel among the people. The God of all is One Who is Allaah Almighty. According to Rules and Regulations prescribed by Him, acquiring things of necessity in lawful ways by having fear of His wrath; and oppressing not any individual, is the Human Religion.

51.  O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do.

52.  And lo! This your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me.
51.  Yaaa-‘ayyu-har-rusulu  kuluu  minat-tayyibaati  wa’-maluu  saalihaa.  ‘InNii  bimaa  ta’-maluuna  ‘Aliim.

52.  Wa  ‘inna  haazihiii  ‘umma-tukum  ‘ummatanw-Waahida-tanw-wa  ‘Anaa  Rabbukum  fatta-quun.

Commentary

‘Ummatan – (Ummat, nation), this word has been used at various places in Holy Qur’an. Plural of this word is “’Umam”, which means “nations, races”. It aims “to unite, to gather”. After collecting many forces; men or objects, putting them to work on one side. ‘Ummatun  means “that source or instrument by which; many things become one thing after bringing them together and turn towards only one object, whether that is a mankind, a collection of principles or union of many people”. Therefore at one place it means “one person”, at other places it means “religion, religious faith, a nation, and it is used for a group of people also; on the condition that they may guide others. One more word “’Imaam”, close to it is used for “Scripture, Faith, Religion, Messenger, Guide and Established Order. Here it aims “the Religion and its followers”.

In this Scripture (Holy Qur’an), the Messengers (peace be upon them) have been informed about their duty, which is that they should show themselves as a pattern of living in this world (a model role of life) and discipline the mankind by their conduct and behavior that they should dwell in the world in such manner that their (next) life of the Hereafter is arranged. Its formula is that they should purify their food and drinkables from impurity and violence. They should do always good works and care about it that Allaah Almighty is Aware of their entire works. It is the matter unto which they (peace be upon them) should cause to incline the entire people and unite them on it. It is the human religion, fundamental faith of which is that “Allaah Almighty is our Lord, Who will punish due to wicked deeds”.

49.  And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright.

Commentary

‘Aayatan – (a Portent), in reality; everything which exists in the universe; is a Portent of the Existence of Allaah Almighty, but because maximum people do not care about it, therefore sometimes Allaah Almighty creates unusual things for manifesting apparently His omnipotence. From the same, one Portent is “pregnancy of Mary (peace be upon her) without husband and birth of Jesus (peace be upon him) without father”.

Rab-watin – (a rising ground), “a place at height” is called rabwatin. It aims the place where Mary (peace be upon her) took refuge at the time of childbirth (delivery) or any other place where she went along with her child Jesus (peace be upon him) for protection from the foes.

Ma-‘iin – (spring of pure water), origin of this word is “’ayn”, which means “to look”. Ma-‘iin means “that; which may be seen clearly”.

It is commanded: Pharaoh and his chiefs denied Moses (peace be upon him) and said: While He (peace be upon him) is a man as we are, moreover his nation is in our slavery, then how can we agree to his sayings?

In short, they falsified both brothers {Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them)}. At last when the time came, they also were destroyed like other disobedient people. The Children of Israel were saved. And Torah was bestowed unto Moses (peace be upon him) for their guidance.

After that Allaah Almighty showed Portent of His omnipotence also to the world by means of Mary and Jesus (peace be upon them) and provided them a good abode for their stay, where there was a spring of pure water too.
