Ease my task for me!

Chapter TAA-HAA – 20

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى 25

 وَيَسِّرْ لِىٓ أَمْرِى 26

 وَٱحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِى 27

25.  (Moses) said: My Lord! Open my breast for me-

26.  And ease my task for me-

27.  And loose a knot from my tongue-

28.  That they may understand my saying.

29.  Appoint for me a henchman from my family-

30.  Aaron, my brother -
25.  Qaala  Rabbishrah  lii  sadrii.

26.  Wa  yassir  liii  ‘amrii.

27.  Wahlul  ‘uqdatam-mil-li-saanii.

28.  Yafqahuu  qawlii.

29.  Waj-‘al-lii  Waziiram-min  ‘ahlii.

30.  Haaruuna  ‘akhii.

Commentary

Moses (peace be upon him) prayed in the Court of Allaah Almighty: It is very difficult to cause to understand a man of provoked nature, refractory and haughty like Pharaoh. There is a dire need of patience and tolerance in this matter. Open my breast for me so that I should not be enraged immediately after hearing conversation against my nature and mar my work by being enraged. The task of causing to understand is very difficult. You can make it easy for me. Any other cannot do this work. Arrange such circumstances that this task becomes easy for me. There is impediment in my speech due to a knot of my tongue. Loose this knot so that I may explain easily in clear words and they may understand my saying. I think, I need a supporter in this work. Appoint a supporter for me from my family so that he may help me in my work timely. My brother Aaron is more suitable for this work. Make him a partner of mine in this work.

Aaron (peace be upon him) was elder brother of Moses (peace be upon him), who was quicker in speaking.

Another Token of Allaah

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

وَٱضْمُمْ يَدَكَ إِلَىٰ جَنَاحِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَآءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوٓءٍ ءَايَةً أُخْرَىٰ 22

22.  And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token –

23.  That We may show thee (some) of Our Greater Portents.

24.  Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! He hath transgressed (the bounds).
22.  Wazmum  yadaka  ‘ilaa  janaahika  takhruj  bayzaaa-‘a  min  gayri  suuu-‘in  ‘aayatan  ‘ukhraa.

23.  Li-Nuriyaka  min  ‘AayaatiNal-Kubraa.

24.  ‘Izhab  ‘ilaa  Fir-‘awna  ‘in-nahuu  tagaa.

(Section 1)

Commentary

After that, it was commanded: Thrust your hand within your armpit! Moses (peace be upon him) obeyed the command. When the hand was withdrawn from the armpit, it was white; glittering like sun, without the reason of any disease but as a miracle. Then it was commanded: It is another Token which has been bestowed to you. After it, some more and greater portents will be shown.

Then it was commanded: Now you should go unto Pharaoh (who was a king of Egypt) because he has gripped up his loins to violate, and has been oppressing Our helpless servants unreasonably.

Found from it is that without correction of faiths and good deeds, if any person shows unusual deeds too, even then he cannot be a Prophet. First condition of Prophet-hood is correction of manners and habits. Claim of Prophet-hood does not suit to the slave of desires, when in the fact; someone claims that he is a prophet. Prophet-hood and Messenger-hood are very great appointments, whereas no one can be accepted as even a reformer or adviser till the time he does not come out with credit on the standard of humanity.

There is no chance of claiming Prophet-hood and Messenger-hood after Muhammad, the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). Moreover, before accepting any person as a saint, reformer or spiritual guide etc. it is necessary to see that his faiths are correct, standard of his manners is acceptable, he admits that Allaah (God) is One and Muhammad is the last Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), and from his deeds; it can be found that his faiths are correct. Without these characteristics, whether someone is very intelligent; he can fly in the air; can control the air or can walk on the water, he can never be able to become a guide of the mankind or be called a great man.

21.  Qaala  khuz-haa  wa  laa  takhaf;  saNu-‘iiduhaa  siiratahal-‘uulaa.

Commentary

‘Ata-wakka-‘u – (I lean), this word has been derived from wak-‘un, which means “to stay, to bear, to stop”. Ta-wakka-‘u means “I take support”.

‘Ahush-shu – {I beat down (leafs of branches from the trees)}, origin of this word is hash-shun, which means “to beat down dry leafs from trees”.

Ma-‘aaribun – (usages, benefits), this word is plural of maaribatun, origin of which is ‘arbun and it means “necessity”. ‘Irbatun means “desire”.

Siiratun – (state), it has come out from the word sayrun, which means “to walk”. Siiratun means “condition of moving”.

Then Allaah Almighty asked: What is that in your right hand? Moses (peace be upon him) answered: It is my staff, It is very useful for me in various works. When I am tired, I take some rest with its support. I beat down dry leafs from the trees for the food of my sheep and I find many other uses by it.

Allaah Almighty commanded: Cast it (the staff) down on the ground. Moses (peace be upon him) threw it on the earth and then immediately that staff became a serpent and began to glide here and there. Confusion was born in the heart of Moses (peace be upon him). Then a call was made: Don’t be afraid! Grasp it in your hand. We shall return it in its original form and it will be a staff as it was earlier.

Quran Chapter 20  14 to 16 (Pt-16, Stg-4) (L-1972) درس قرآن

Basically the original Religion is only one

Chapter TAA-HAA – 20

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Here it has been described that from the beginning, We chose Moses (peace be upon him) from the Children of Israel and under Our Security he was brought up in the house of those people who were his enemies and who used to get the sons of Children of Israel killed immediately after birth. Then We arranged to send Moses unto Shuayb (peace be upon them) evasively for his training, where he lived for ten years as a servant. Shuayb (peace be upon him) arranged to wed him with own daughter. After completion of the tenure of service, Moses (peace be upon him) departed along with his wife and the flock of goats. Then We caused to reach them the holy valley and there We Showed him Our special Token, so that he may know his Lord. Such Sign was that We illuminated a green tree with Our Light. And when Moses (peace be upon him) turned his full attention unto that Light, then We instructed him concerning the perfect articles of the faiths.

The tree was used as a telephone. A call was made from it: I am Allaah and you are hearing My Voice. I appointed you My Messenger. Therefore you should have faith that there is no worthy of worship save Me. And believe in it that the Day of Resurrection shall come after death. Moreover, every mankind will be rewarded or punished in accordance with own good or wrong deeds. Therefore, these three faiths were valued:

1.  Doctrine of (God’s) Oneness.

2.  Belief in Messenger-hood.

3.  Belief in the Day of Resurrection.

After that, it is commanded: It is the way of My worship that for My Remembrance; you should establish the prayer timely and regularly.

Then the miracles were bestowed, out of which, two miracles have been mentioned. Behavior with Muhammad, Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was similar also. He was chosen for Messenger-hood from the people of the entire world and was brought up under Allaah’s Own particular protection. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was not sent for training unto any other. Allaah Almighty trained him Himself by correct inspirations and true dreams. Then He sent down Gabriel (peace be upon him) by making him His Own Token, and by means of him; the Greatest Miracle was bestowed in the form of Holy Qur’an, and offering prayer was instructed.

In the past, the prayer was in any one form from (a) standing position, (b) genuflection position, (c) prostration position and (d) sitting reverentially. The last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was taught prayer; in which above mentioned all four forms were collected. Beliefs of the Religion were perfected, in which basic faiths were kept the same three - Doctrine of (God’s) Oneness, Belief in Messenger-hood, and Belief in the Day of Resurrection. Remaining all faiths were settled as requisites of these three beliefs.

One purpose of mentioning about Moses and other Prophets (peace be upon them) is that the mankind should understand that all Prophets (peace be upon them) are as rings of one chain and they all taught such religion which basically is one. If there is any difference; that is in details.

14.  Lo! I, even I, am Allah, there is no God save Me; so serve Me and establish worship for My Remembrance.

15.  Lo! The Hour is surely coming, I like to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve).

16.  So, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish.
14.  ‘InnaNiii  ‘AnAllaahu  laaa  ‘ilaaha  ‘illaaa  ’Anaa  fa’-budNii,  wa  ‘aqimis-Salaata  li-zikRii.

16.  Falaa  yasuddan-naka  ‘anhaa  mal-laa  yu’-minu  bihaa  wattaba-‘a  hawaahu  fatardaa.

Commentary

Tasuddanna – {let (him) turn thee aside, May (he) stop you}, origin of this word is saddun, which means “to prevent, to stop, to keep off, to turn unto aside”.

Tardaa – (you perish, you will be ruined),

A call was made: There is no partner of Mine, therefore you should establish worship for Me only. You should establish prayer for My Remembrance. This world is not to settle for always. It will perish and an Hour for the mankind is near to come when he will be reproduced and presented before Me for giving an account of own deeds. No one has been informed about the particular time of that Hour, so that every individual should remain ready in waiting position for it and they should not commit any evil. Some people do not believe in the Day of Resurrection. Be attentive! You should not come in their seduction, lest they make you careless from this side. Being careless from the Day of Judgment is base of destruction.

There is fear that if you heard them who do not have belief in it, then you would be ruined.

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

11.  So when he reached it, a call was made: O Moses!

12.  Lo! I, even I, am thy Lord, so take off thy shoes, for lo! Thou art in the holy valley of Tuwaa.

13.  And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired.
11.  Fa-lammaaa  ‘ataa-haa  nuudiya  yaa-  Muusaa.

12.  ‘Inniii  ‘Anaa  Rabbuka  fakhla’  na’-layk.  ‘Innaka  bil-waadil-muqaddasi  Tuwaa.

13.  Wa  ‘Anakh-tartuka  fasta-mi’  limaa  yuuhaa.

Commentary

Nuudiya – (a call was made, was called out), it is past indolent tense from the word naadaa, which is an active past tense. Origin of this word is nidaaa-‘un. Both words have passed in Surah Maryam (Mary).

‘Ikhla’ – (take off, remove), this is word of command from khala-‘un, which means “to take off, to make away”.

It is commanded: When Moses (peace be upon him) reached near the fire, a call was made! I am your Lord, and you have been standing in a holy valley, name of which is Tuwaa. Any unclean mankind cannot come here, whether he is unclean due to apparent or hidden contamination. Your shoes have been polluted. Therefore you should take them off. I have chosen you to appoint My Messenger. So you should listen to that attentively which is said to you and act upon it accordingly.

In fact, Moses (peace be upon him) was called in the Court of Allah Almighty and he proceeded. He (peace be upon him) moved in the same condition; in which he was at that time. His shoes had been contaminated because in the way; the goats were also along with him. It was commanded: Take off your shoes, and then come forth!

The same commandment is remaining even now. You should observe your shoes that whether those are polluted or otherwise, if you are going to offer prayer in the Court of Allah Almighty. If those are contaminated; then you should remove them.

Commentary

Qabasun – (burning of wooden piece), the end of a wooden piece or any other thing; burning with fire.

When the Angel (peace be upon him) called out Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and said: Allah Almighty has appointed you as His Messenger and He has been going to reveal His Word unto you. So you should recite, understand it, teach the people and cause to understand it to them. Then he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) perceived the load of this great work, and he began to think that what was Messenger-hood and how could he discharge this duty? It was a thoughtful matter for him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).

It was commanded: Holy Qur’an is not being sent for the purpose that you should be put in trouble and confusion. This is appearance of the Mercy of Allah Almighty, which used to appear also in the past in different forms.

We cause to hear you the story of Moses (peace be upon him) that how We appointed him as Our Messenger for defeating the rebellious person of his time and saving the oppressed people from his tyrannies. Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) departed from Mdyan and forgot his way in the jungle during darkness of night. Suddenly he (peace be upon him) saw a light and said to his wife: Stop here for a while. I have been looking ahead a fire burning. I go forth and bring a wooden piece kindled; so that we may be saved from coldness. And it is not strange if some people may be there near the fire also, from whom we may know our way. After saying this, he (peace be upon him) left behind his wife and goats; and moved unto the light alone.
