In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

92.  Those who denied Shu-aib became as though they had not dwelt there; those who denied Shu-aib, they were the losers.

93.  So he turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord’s messages unto you and gave you good advice; then how can I sorrow for a people that rejected (truth)?

Lesson

Lam  yagnaw – (had not dwelt), ‘Aasaa – (I sorrow).

Prophet Shu-aib (blessing on Him) prayed from Allah Almighty: “Our Lord! Decide with truth between us and our folk, for Thou art the Best of those who make decision”. These people have been inclined to molest us. On the other side, there is no protecting friend and supporter of My companions but You only.

It is commanded that at last; the earthquake seized those unmindful and arrogant people and they fell prostrate in their dwelling-places and could not get up again. Those people, who were contending against Prophet Shu-aib (blessing on Him) with great airs, they were desirous of; either to drive Him and His believers out or their death. And they used to disregard everyone in front of their strength and power. Due to strong shocks of earthquakes, they were destroyed totally.

Some days prior to this mishap, the fastidious and haughty chieftains of the tribe of Prophet Shu-aib (blessing on Him) were showing their power and going to convince their people: You should not obey the command of Prophet Shu-aib (blessing on Him), otherwise; you will be the losers.

Today {when the earthquake ruined the nation of Prophet Shu-aib (blessing on Him)}, the world beheld that they were thinking wrong. They lose their wealth and despair of life. As soon as Prophet Shu-aib (blessing on Him) felt that the wrath of God Almighty is near to appear, He (blessing on Him) left that place along with His believers, and at the time of leaving the township, He (blessing on Him) was saying: O My nation! I delivered the Commands of My Lord unto you. I was your well-wisher. Alas! You did never listen to Me. What can I do now for you? How can I sorrow for such obstinate and perverse infidel nation, who rejected the Truth?
