Quran Chapter 13  10 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1568) - درس قرآن

Allah knows all hidden and open

Surah Ra-‘d (The Thunder) - 13

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

10.  Alike of you is he who hideth the saying and he who noiseth it abroad, he who lurketh in the night and he who goeth freely in the daytime.
10.  Sa-waaa-‘ummin-kum-man  ‘asarral-qawla  wa  man-  jahra  bihii  wa  man  huwa  mustakh-fim-bil-layli  wa  saaribum-bin-nahaar.

Commentary

Mustakh-fin – (he who lurks), actually this word is mustakhfii, which is the subject from ‘istikh-faa-‘un. Its origin is khafii. Meaning of khafi-yun and khifaa-‘un is “to lurk, to disappear, to be hidden”. ‘Istikh-faa-‘un means “to manage carefully for lurking” – for example, to be suppressed in the concealment of any corner or in a cabin, even during the darkness.

Saaribun – (that who goes freely on the way), it is the subject from sarbun. Sarbun means “a road, way, street”. When this word is an origin (source), then it means “to move on the road”. Saaribun means “the individual who wanders on streets and roads”.

If any person hides saying, Allah Almighty knows it as He knows that which he says loudly, but other hearers can hear only that which is said loudly. Whereas, it is equal before Allah Almighty; though someone says silently or noises it abroad. Like this, that person who has been lurking in the corner of any closed small room during the darkness of the night, and that person who goes freely in the daytime and wanders in streets and bazaars openly, both are entirely equal in the knowledge of Allah Almighty. As He sees and is Aware of the second person, like this; He has been looking every movement of the first individual.

From it, we should understand the difference that any mankind cannot be a seer and hearer as Allah Almighty is Seer and Hearer (of everything in all conditions).
