Commentary

Yahiifu – {(He) will wrong/will be unjust}, this word has come out from ha-ya-fa, which means “injustice and doing wrong”.

During the tenure of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), it happened that a dispute between a Muslim and a Jew was pulled out. The Muslim said: this thing is of mine, so it should be in my possession. The Jew said: I am rightful owner of it, so it should be given to me. He said also: Let’s go unto Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! He will judge that to whom it should be given. The Jew was sure that he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) will decide with justice. But the Muslim’s heart was insincere. He considered that the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) would judge correctly, he would have to withdraw from that thing because the just decision was not in his favor. He was aware that by the judgment of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), he would despair.

Concerning such people, it is commanded: Claim of Belief and deserting from the judgment of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) cannot be gathered at one place. Those who leave the high road of Messenger’s judgment, either there is disease in their hearts, that is to say, they have been involved in the ill of greediness, which is such a disease of the heart, which does not let the mankind remain fair, or such people do not have belief in Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), they have doubted, or they consider that Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) will be unjust to them, snatch their right and cause to give it to others.

Nothing is correct from above mentioned doubts. Neither greediness is right, nor there is any chance of any doubt, and nor Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) can do wrong any person. The actual matter is that they themselves have gripped up their loins on violence. They wish to violate the right of others. And there is no aim of them but to warm up their own pocket.
