Quran Chapter 11 -Review (Pt-12, Stg-3) (L-1430) - درس قرآن

Revision of instructions

Surah Huud (Hud) - 11

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Purpose of revealing Holy Qur’an is that the mankind should know their Creator, God Almighty, Allah; The Most High, and follow the Sayings of His last Messenger; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). Allah Almighty commanded to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that He should cause to understand the people that “to err is human”, so they should beg pardon of God Almighty, bow before Him submissively and repent every time. Allah Almighty will keep them pleased also in this world. But if they did against it, then a Day will come when severely punishment will reach them.

Allah Almighty knows very well about your entire open deeds and hidden thoughts. Every individual will be present before Him on a Day (the Day of Resurrection). There, human beings will be punished for their errors and rewarded for their good works. Allah Almighty has established this entire system of the heavens and the earth for the purpose that after creating the mankind, He desires to test them in the world that “who chooses the right path and who inclines unto the wickedness. He does not make haste in awarding punishment, but gives respite to do according to every individual’s own will.

You should not consider that every thing is only this world, after it, there is nothing. Whoever is desirous of only this world; will be provided in accordance with own luck, but will remain in loss on the last Day. For causing to know this matter, Allah Almighty sent His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) along with His Scriptures. It is incumbent that you should obey the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and admit those commandments of His Word which He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) teaches you, otherwise your end will not be good.

Prophet Noah, Hud, Salih, Lot and Shu’eyb (peace be upon them) came in the world to cause to understand their folks; turn by turn. But alas! They were obeyed by only a few people, and other people chose the way of arrogance. At last the disaster came. Those were saved who accepted, but those were ruined who denied.

Now the last Messenger of God Almighty; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has come unto you, along with His last Scripture; Holy Qur’an. You should obey Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him); and disobey not like ancient nations, otherwise you will also be punished. On the Day of Resurrection, there will be only two abodes – the Paradise and the Hell. Righteous people will be sent into the Paradise, whereas the persons with ill-deeds will be thrown into the Hell, where they will dwell; as long as the Will of Allah Almighty.

From the circumstances of ancient people, the common people should learn that due to disobedience of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), torment of Allah Almighty will come. It is commanded to the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! In the previous stories, there is a lesson of satisfaction and firmness of your heart. You should continue producing the practical pattern of righteousness before the people with patience and stability and refer its result to Allah Almighty.

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

123.  And Allah’s is the Invisible of the heavens and the earth, and unto Him the whole matter will be returned. So worship Him and put thy trust in Him. And lo! Thy Lord is not Unaware of what ye (mortals) do.
123.  Wa  Lillaahi  Gaybus-samaa-waati  wal-‘arzi  wa  ‘ilayHi  yur-ja-‘ul-‘amru  kulluhuu  fa’-bud-Hu  wa  tawakkal  ‘alayH.  Wa  maa  Rabbuka  bi-gaa-filin  ‘am-maa  ta’-maluun.

Commentary

Yur-ja-‘u – grammatically this word is aorist passive voice from raj-‘un. Raj-‘un means “to return”. From the same origin, there is a word “rujuu’, which means “return, inclination, to turn towards”. It aims that “all matters will be returned unto Allah Almighty, and the last decision regarding every thing will be made by Him only”.

It is the last verse of Surah Hud. It is being described to the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in this verse that “while the entire fact has been disclosed in this Chapter that all human beings will not choose perfectly that path, which Holy Qur’an desires to counsel, many of them will oppose it due to enmity and obstinacy, then now, it is useless to be grieved due to mischief and enmity of the people. Therefore, O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! You should make over the matter of these adversaries to Allah Almighty. He is well Aware of the entire Visible and Invisible things of the heavens and the earth, and at the end, the whole matters will be returned unto Him and then He will decide about all affairs. He knows their all acts, and on the Day of Resurrection; and if it would be necessary for the good and proper for the time being, He will punish them of their wicked deeds in the world also. You should not be grieved from their violations and mischief. Worship your Lord, trust in Him and establish a pattern of practice before the Believers, so that, observing you, the Believers also make only the worship of Allah Almighty their habit, and they prostrate not before any other save Him”.

Commentary

It was described in the previous verse that the mankind is such creature, in which - sense, intention and power of choice demand that every individual can choose the way of his choice after meditation. Allah Almighty has shown the Straight Path with His Mercy to some people and they have been agreed upon such things; on which the human lives depend. These people are Prophets and Messengers of God Almighty (peace be upon them). They teach the entire human beings that they should unite on “unavoidable things for their actual life”. Some people listen to them and obey their sayings. But maximum people consider that they {Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them)} are liars and get ready to trouble them.

These stories of ancient nations have been told for satisfaction of God’s last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and the Muslims, so that those people who will accept the Truth and an exhortation, Allah Almighty will help them always. But those people who will not try to understand after causing to know them so much, it will be said to them: Do as your mind may desire! We do our work. Wait for the result of your deeds! We wait also for the result of our deeds.

God has not made the mankind one nation

Surah Huud (Hud) - 11

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

118.  And if thy Lord had willed, He verily would have made mankind one nation, yet they cease not differing -

19.  Save him on whom thy Lord hath mercy. And for that He did create them. And the Word of thy Lord hath been fulfilled: Verily I shall fill Hell with the jinn and mankind together.
118.  Wa  law  shaaa-‘a  Rabbuka  la-ja-‘alan-naasa  ‘Umma-tanw-waahi-datanw-wa  laa  yazaa-luuna  mukh-talifiin -

119.  ‘Illaa  mar-rahima  Rabbuk.  Wa  lizaalika  khala-qa-hum.  Wa  tammat  Kalimatu  Rabbika  la-‘amla-‘anna  Jahan-nama  minal-jinnati  wan-naasi  ‘ajma-‘iin.

Commentary

Kalimatu – (the Word), this word has passed earlier. Which word comes out from the mouth, and it has some meanings, that is called Kalimatu. It aims “Decision or Commandment”.

‘Al-jinnati – (a creature which cannot be seen by common people), Jinn belong to such kind of creature which is like the mankind in thinking, understanding and option. They are called “demons and ghosts” also.

It could be thought that if the entire human beings would have been made concordant in thinking and all of them would have been obedient of the Messengers (peace be upon them), then they entire people would have been saved from the torment.

It has been caused to know in this verse that sense and wisdom have been bestowed to the mankind and power of choice has also been given, and they have such nature that they can choose the way of their choice by using their sense.

If Allah Almighty willed, He would have made all of them righteous like Angels (peace be upon them). But it was demand of His Omnipotence that two kinds of creature (mankind and Jinn) should become righteous by using their intention and sense. At the very tune, it would be perfection of the creation.

Therefore, into both of them, there would be righteous as well as evildoers too. And they will remain mutually different. Allah Almighty will guide the people with His Mercy, but abode of wrongdoers will be Hell. Result of it will be that the Hell will be filled with evildoers from the mankind and the Jinn, because these both kinds of the creature have been empowered to choose the way of their choice.

Safety of righteous people - Quran Chapter 11 -117 (Pt-12, Stg-3) (L-1426) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 11 -117 (Pt-12, Stg-3) (L-1426) - درس قرآن

Safety of righteous people

Surah Huud (Hud) - 11

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

  وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ (117

117.  And thy Lord is not such as to destroy townships unjustly while their folk are righteous.
117.  Wa  maa  kaana  Rabbuka  li-yuh-likal-quraa  bi-zulminw-wa  ‘ahluhaa  musli-huun.

Commentary

In this verse, way of escaping from worldly disasters and destruction has been described in very clear words that, in which township, the righteous people are more than enough and they let not commit evils to the evildoers by their influence and advice, then the entire township will remain saved from ruin, so that the people may know a very important rule and they are saved from the calamity of Allah Almighty.

It is commanded that Allah Almighty does not destroy such township; people of which continue correcting their condition every time. Oppression and tyranny are against the grace of God Almighty. He can ruin any township any time without any cause if He will. There is no-one who may criticize against Him.

Moreover, He has settled some Rules in the world, according to which; every work of here is performed. The wise people have examined Them and they have recorded results of their experiments in their books and maxims. There is a proverb of a wise man! I am sure that no disaster will come on me on the condition that I do not behave deceitfully. One more person, who meditates in the human life, says! When you are afflicted, in its bottom, there will be any fault of your own, whether apparently you are unable to see or seem it.

The same Rule has been presented by Holy Qur’an in a common form, not at one place; but on various occasions, so that it may be kept remembered well. That common form is that; maximum people of which nation continue striving for saving the people from sins, correction of their nation and condition of their people, that nation will be saved from destruction. But the maximum people of which township or country are involved in wickedness and immorality, and those people are less in numbers who prevent from evil deeds, even that there is none who listen to them, then it is within the reach of the conception that Allah Almighty will send such common calamity on them that none would be saved. (God protect).

116.  If only there had been among the generations before you men possessing a remnant (of good sense) to warn (their people) from corruption in the earth, as did a few of those whom We saved from them! And the wrongdoers kept indulging in luxuries and were guilty.

Commentary

Law-laa – this word has been used earlier also. Deposition of dissatisfaction and threat manifests from it. Above mentioned verse has been started from this word, that is to say, the evil came upon them due to the reason that there were no such people among them who possess remnant of goodness, who prevent the people from wrongdoing and tyranny, and who forbid them from committing wicked deeds. There were only a few such people who had turned away from evildoing by obeying their Messengers (peace be upon them). But they did not have so much power that they could prohibit any person from evil deeds.

Besides them, other people were in such condition that they were fond of luxurious enjoyment. They used to disregard advice of any Wise person and spend their precious time and money on useless works, absurd amusements and sports. According to Divine Law, such all people were guilty. So at last, they were ruined by the wrath of Allah Almighty. Only those people were saved who began to obey the commandments of their Prophets (peace be upon them).

Ba-qiyya-tun – (remnant, that which is left, remainder), it aims “effect of remaining goodness”.

‘Ut-rifuu – {(they) kept indulging (in luxuries)}, it is past passive voice from the word ‘itraafun, which has been derived from tarafa. Tarafa means prosperity. ‘Ut-rifuu means “luxurious things were provided to them”.

114.  Establish worship at the two ends of the day and in some watches of the night. Lo! Good deeds annul ill-deeds. This is reminder for the mindful.

115.  And have patience. (O Muhammad), for lo! Allah loseth not the wages of the Good.
114.  Wa  ‘aqi-mis-Salaata  tara-fa-yin-nahaari  wa  zulafam-minal-layl.  ‘Innal-hasanaati  yuz-hibnas-sayyi-‘aat.  Zaalika  zikraa  liz-zaa-kiriin.

115.  Was-bir-  fa-‘innAllaaha  laa  yuzii-‘u  ‘ajral-Muhsi-niin.

Commentary

Zulafa – (watches/parts of night), this word is plural of zulfatun. Zulfatun is that part of the night which is adjoining to that part of the day.

Allah Almighty taught His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) about the Rules pf Practice regarding the life of the Muslims and commanded that at first, you should act upon these verses, so that other Muslims do the same in your imitation naturally. You should establish prayer (worship) at both ends of the day i.e. beginning and ending of the day (morning and evening) at fixed times, and determine some watches of night also for offering the prayer.

In accordance with this commandment, Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) established two prayers in the first part of the day {(Fajr – (the dawn of the day) and Zuhr – midday (the time immediately after the declining of the sun)}, one prayer in the last part of the day {‘Asr (afternoon prayer)}, and two prayers in the first part of the night {Magrib – (evening prayer) and ‘Ishaa’ – (the prayer of the first watch of the night)}.

Accordingly, prayer of these five times is compulsory for the Muslims to be offered. The person who may not offer any prayer of these times due to any excuse, he should offer the omitted appointed prayer afterwards. And the individual who could not attend congregational prayer due to any reason, he should offer it alone separately.

“The Prayer” is such an act which is performed purely; only for God, Allah Almighty. Without any doubt, it is a best work. Due to any error or omission, influence of any person or seducing by anyone else, some times a person talks unreasonably. This prayer is expiation for such little sins, because it is a prescribed rule that bad works are reduced to nothing by performing good works. It should be remembered that there should not be any shortness in offering the prayer.

Then, it is commanded that these prayers should be established being bound, regularly and steadily. It aims “Patience”. Allah Almighty does not destroy reward of any individual’s good work.
