Lesson
taaa-‘ifun – (one who wanders around), it is “the subject” from the word
tawf. Tawf means “to wander around”. The
devils wander around the mankind every time and whenever they want, touch him,
due to which; he slips from the Straight Path.
Mubsiruun – (apprehend through the
senses), it is “the subject” and plural from mubsir. Origin of this word is ‘absaar,
which means “to behold, to see”. Here it aims “to see with internal eye i.e. to
understand”.
Yamudduun – (they drag, pull), origin
of this word is maddun, which means “to
pull”. Yamudduun means “they pull them, that is to say; they bring them toward
straying.
Laa yuq-siruun – (they do not cease, leave no stone unturned), origin of
this word is ‘aqsaar, which means “to
fall short, to fail to be lacking (in)”. This word has been derived from qasar, which means “to shorten, to
prevent, to fix on etc.” Laa yuq-siruun
means “they leave no stone unturned”.
Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and
peace be upon Him) was directed in the previous verse that He should be in patience
and restraint against the enemies. Outrage and anger are devilish temptation. He
should seek refuge in God Almighty from it. Here, the followers of the
Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) have been guided that
they should follow His foot-steps.
It is commanded that the people who obey the commands of
Allah Almighty, upon them, when Satan persuades, they become alert at once and
remember that they have been ordered to be saved from the Devil. As soon as
they remember it, they understand that they must seek refuge in God Almighty. Immediately,
they turn their attention to Him and beg: Our Lord! Bestow us power so that we
may be saved from the trick of Satan because we are not able to saveourselves
from his attack, and You fulfill all necessities of everything. These are
meanings of Laa Hawla Wa Laa Quwwata ‘Illaa
BIllaah, in
simple English it means “There is neither might nor
power except with Allah”. The meaning of لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله has been explained by RasulUllaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)
himself: “There is no might to avoid disobeying Allah except by the
protection of Allah and no strength to obey Allah except with the help of Allah.” One can reflect on this explanation
when reciting it.
This powerful statement is the proclamation
that: All power,
might, strength, grandeur and glory are by Allah, from Allah and belong to
Allah.
The above
mentioned words are very useful when the devilish whims mislead to the human
being. But those people who are weak in Belief, they are deceived by Satan
easily and he involves them in labyrinth of straying, from where, it becomes
difficult for them to come out without guidance of any Aware. Therefore, it is
necessary to obey the commands of own advisers and well-wishers.
