Quran Chapter 13  30 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1588) - درس قرآن

This is the nation before whom others have passed away

Surah Ra-‘d (The Thunder) - 13

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

30.  Thus We send thee (O Muhammad) unto a nation, before whom other nations have passed away, that thou mayst recite unto them that which We have inspired in thee, while they are disbelievers in the Beneficent. Say: He is my Lord; there is No God save Him. In Him do I put my trust and unto Him is my recourse.
30.  Kazaalika  ‘arsal-Naaka  fiii  ‘Ummatin  qad  khalat  min  qabli-haaa  ‘Umamul-litat-luwa  ‘alay-himul-laziii  ‘awhay-Naaa  ‘ilay-ka  wa  hum  yakfu-ruuna  bir-Rahmaan.  Qul  Huwa  Rab-bii  Laaa  ‘ilaaha  ‘illaa  Huu.  ‘Alay-Hi  ta-wakkaltu  wa  ‘ilay-Hi  mataab.

Commentary

Mataabi – (my recourse), actually this word is mataabii, due to stopping; the last “i” has fallen. Its origin is “Tawbah”, which means to return, to invert, repentance, penitence, renunciation etc.

It is commanded that as Muslims and Disbelievers (both kinds of people) have passed away in previous nations, like them some people of this nation will not put their trust in You {O Muhammad, (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)}. We have sent You as last Messenger for guidance of good people, so that You may recite unto them Holy Qur’aan which We have revealed unto You by means of Inspiration; and they reap advantage from It. Though the Disbelievers hear it or otherwise. They disbelieve in the Beneficent. You O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) should say to them: He (Allah Almighty) is my Lord Who has No partner. I call you unto Him only, and He is my Supporter in every work. So I address only Him in my supplications and prayers.
