(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
54. Allah is He Who
shaped you out of weakness, then appointed after weakness strength, then,
after strength, appointed weakness and grey hair. He createth what He will.
And He is the Knower, the Mighty.
55. And on the Day when
the Hour riseth the guilty will vow that they did tarry but an hour – thus were
they ever deceived.

Commentary
Those people, who have correct concept of the Power of Allaah
Almighty, they have no doubt in it that He makes changes in the condition of
nations and countries as and when He considers it suitable. Feeble people can
be strong by the passage of time and the strong can become old and weak. If someone
has any doubt in it, he is being warned in this verse that – do you not behold
that at the time of birth; the mankind is so much feeble and weak that he can
do nothing save lying at a place? Then, slowly and gradually, strength begins
to come into him and he becomes adult, his veins are full of strength and vigor.
After that, his strength begins to decrease. If he has become old, his hair
become grey. Understand from it that Allaah Almighty has full Power! But
ignorant people do not draw correct results from the circumstances. They crook
always, even after looking the afflictions of the Day of Resurrection; they
will say wrong like this that – Ah! The world has been finished so quickly. It seems
that we would have remained there only for one hour.
