Quran Chapter 35: 14 (Pt-22, Stg-5) (L-2677) درس قرآن

Your gods will deny your association

Chapter “FAATIR’” - (The Creator) - 35

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

14.  If ye pray unto them they hear not your prayer, and if they heard they could not answer you. On the Day of Resurrection they will disown association with you. And none can inform you like Him Who is Aware.

14.’In  tad-‘uuhum  laa  yasma-‘uu  du-‘aaa-‘akum.  Wa  law  sami-‘uu  mastajaabuu  lakum.  Wa  Yawmal-Qiyaamati  yakfuruuna  bi-shirkikum.  Wa  laa  yunabbi-‘uka  mislu  Khabiir.

(Part Three-Fourth) (Section 2)

Commentary

‘Istijaabatun – (to answer), this word has passed in Suratul-Baqarah. It aims “to do according to someone’s command”.

The people make idols of magnificent manifestations of the Nature, for instance, the sun, the moon, the stars etc. or own great people or their imaginary forms, and adore them save Allaah Almighty, including having belief in Allaah Almighty or by denying Him. Such entire people have been warned in this verse.

It is commanded: Some of them are those who do not have capability of hearing. And if some of them are able to hear, then those are able to do nothing. On the Day of Resurrection those will say to their adorers before Allaah Almighty: How could we be your gods? Why did you go astray, turned away from Allaah Almighty and involved in infidelity and idolatry?

Therefore, they are being caused to understand that they should know this reality during their worldly life that their self-made gods cannot hear, and suppose if those become able to hear them, even then those cannot give them answer, because those are incapable.

Those will say clearly on the Day of Resurrection: we were never their gods. They can be adorers only of their desires. We do not have any concern with them. They know better what they did.

O Infidels and Idolaters! You would gravely be struck with regret at that time. Allaah Almighty has been informing you before time by means of His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) because He is the Knower of the entire apparent and hidden matters. And there is none save Him who may tell the reality.
