Commentary

Most of the people did not understand that they would have to come back to life again after death and would be produced in the Court of Allaah almighty for accounting of personal deeds. Actually without guidance it is difficult by oneself to understand. But after explaining by the Prophets (peace be upon them) it was to be understood. If even then it is not understood by someone, then there would not be any other reason save personal pride and carelessness. The same has been explained in very kind and simple words in this verse, which is not too much difficult for understanding.

It is commanded: O mankind! That shall certainly happen for which Allaah Almighty has promised. There is no doubt in its occurrence. Behold! You should not come in the deception of any worldly thing’s apparent beauty and attraction, because “All that glitters; is not gold”. However a deceiver has been following you who desires that you should remain involved in worldly matters. He is called Satan who shows that he is your best friend.

Behold! You should remain careful from him every time because he can never be your well-wisher. He is your most dangerous foe in the form of your friend. He becomes your friend for misguiding you. And when someone is deluded by him, then he cannot be saved from the Fire of the Hell. Our Lord! Save us from Satan the outcast. We seek refuge in You from him whose name is Iblis. Amen.
