Commentary

The Muslims should live mutually cheerfully and happily, be well-wishers and fellow sufferers of one another, and try to keep one another glad every time. They should bear in mind that none should be caused any kind of trouble from any other. Every individual should guard fame and honor of all people.

At first, ways of keeping the society chaste and pure from evil matters have been described. Relative men and women should live carefully in the houses. It has been commanded: At first you should ask leave and salute, and then enter by keeping your eyes below, when you enter the house of any other. In this part of the verse under reference, it is commanded: Your first word to say should be ‘Assalaamu ‘alaykum, when you enter the houses of your relatives.

It is a very blessed and sweet Word sent by Allaah Almighty for pleasing others. There is a supplication of peace and safety in it for others. And it is very chaste means for disclosing own integrity and sympathy. Allaah Almighty causes to hear His Revelations clearly by means of His Chosen Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). He is Who has bestowed you sense. The first duty of the sense is that after hearing these verses, it should prepare practical path for the mankind in the light of these verses, by following of which, the mankind may succeed in the both worlds. If the sense did not perform this duty, then it did nothing in the world. It will be responsible of bringing the mankind unto destruction instead of goodness.
