Misunderstanding of idolaters

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson

The Idolaters of Makkah had this misunderstanding that their forefathers had been prostrating before their idols since centuries and gaining their all ends with the help of their idols. They thought: How can we change our way of life by saying a Person (Muhammad –grace, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be on Him)? We accept that He has all good qualities, but how can we obey one Individual against a great multitude?

They used to say: Nearly entire people of Arab have believed since many years and they have faith even today too that Allah does not do anything without the intercession and help of these idols.

One Man stands from us and says that He is Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, blessings and peace be on Him) and produces a Book before us (Holy Qur’aan), in which it is written that the idols are nothing. Neither they can hurt any person and nor profit. These are lifeless stones or trees, blind, dumb and deaf, which can neither give anything to anyone and nor can mar in any case.

Everything in the heavens and in the earth has been saying: I am not in my own control. From which direction you hear; this voice comes: Our existence and appearing is exactly according to the Knowledge of Allah Almighty. Plan of entire universe and for life of every living being has been made by Him separately. He knows every atom and particle.

In the Holy Qur’aan, Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, blessings and peace be on Him) has been commanded at several places: Cause to know these people thoroughly that if many people lay but to stake upon any matter, even then; that cannot be good and correct. The right is only that; which is right according to the knowledge of Allah Almighty, Who has explained it in His Word (Holy Qur’aan) in accordance with His that Knowledge. The actual thing is This Book (Holy Qur’aan). If the entire human beings reject It and only One Person accepts It, that One Person is Right and other all disbelievers are wrong.

As, such misunderstanding about the Holy Qur’aan did exist during the presence of the Holy Messenger (grace, blessings and peace be on Him); and it exists today also that the amendment or change can be made in it with the opinion of community (public). But it is entirely wrong. Its Principles can never be changed whether the entire world is on opposite side.

God is High Exalted above all that ye associate with Him - Quran Chptr 10-18 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1251)-درس قرآن

Quran Chptr 10-18 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1251)-درس قرآن

God is High Exalted above all that ye associate with Him

Idols are self-made gods, unacceptable to One God
Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

18.  And they worship beside Allah that which neither hurteth them nor profiteth them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Would ye inform Allah of (something) that He knoweth not in the heavens or in the earth? Glory be to Him and He is High Exalted above all that ye associate (with Him)!

Lesson

Tu-nabbi-’uuna – (you inform), origin of this word is tan(m)-bi-‘atun, which has been derived from the word naba-‘un. Naba-‘un means “the news”. Tan(m)-bi-‘atun means “to inform”.

The unintelligent idolaters used to say the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, blessings and peace be on Him) that He should change or amend the Holy Qur’aan, that in it, evil of the idols and their worship was described. Otherwise, they were very impressive from the advices of highest grade; mentioned in the Holy Qur’aan and its eloquence and fluency of Speech.

It is commanded: Behold those people! They worship such things which neither can hurt them and nor profit. If you prevent them from it; they say! Wow! They cause to provide us everything from Allah by means of intercession. If they do not exist; how can we get access to Allah?

God Almighty commands: Say to them! It is your self-invented matter, which is not according to actual circumstances, the entire universe of the heavens and the earth falsify your thought, because in fact; the Truth is that which is in the Knowledge of Allah Almighty. There is no one who may be His associate in His works and management. Everything is His creature and dependent upon His Commandment. None and nothing can command Him.

Quran Chptr 10-16&17 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1250)-درس قرآن

The guilty never are successful

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

16.  Say: If Allah had so willed I should not have recited it to you nor would He have made it known to you. I dwelt among you a whole lifetime before it (came to me). Have ye then no sense?

17.  Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah and denieth His Revelations? Lo! The guilty never are successful.
16.  Qul-law  shaaa-‘Allaahu  maa  talaw-tuhuu  ‘alaykum  wa  laaa  ‘adraa-kum-  bih.  Faqad  la-bistu  fiikum  ‘umuram-min-  qab-lih.  ‘Afalaa  ta’-qiluun.

17.  Faman  ‘azlamu  mimma-niftaraa  ‘alAllaahi  kaziban  ‘aw  kazzaba  bi-‘Aayaa-tiH.  ‘Inna-huu  laa  yuflihul-mujri-muun.

Lesson

Talaw-tu – (I should not have recited it), it is past tense, which has been derived from the word tilaawatun. Tilaawatun means “to recite). Usually this word is used for the recitation of Holy Qur’aan.

‘Adraa – (to make something known, to inform, to warn, to show, to caution), it is also past tense from the word ‘idraa-‘un. Its origin is da-ra-ya, which has been derived from diraayatun. Diraayatun means “to understand, to know”. Its transitive is ‘Idraa-‘un which means “to cause to understand, to inform”.

Allah Almighty commands to His Prophet (SallAllaahu Alayhi Wa  Aalihii wassallam): You should say to the idolaters that “neither have I compiled it and nor can do so. It has been inspired in Me (SallAllaahu Alayhi Wa  Aalihii wassallam) by Allah Almighty. If He had not so willed He should neither have guided Me (SallAllaahu Alayhi Wa  Aalihii wassallam) to recite it before you and nor would He have made; about its contents; known to you.

You know it very well that I had been dwelling among you for forty years before Islam. And you are well aware of it also that neither any individual taught Me (SallAllaahu Alayhi Wa  Aalihii wassallam) writing and nor reading. How can it be possible that an uneducated and illiterate person writes suddenly such eloquent and elegant book? Think for a while. These Revelations have been revealed by Allah Almighty which you falsify. Therefore, it means that there is no any other bigger tyrant and guilty than you. The guilty person can never see the face of success.

Follow that which is inspired in last Messenger - Quran Chptr 10 15b Pt 11, Stg 3 L–1249 درس قرآن

Quran Chptr 10-15b (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1249)-درس قرآن

Follow that which is inspired in last Messenger

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

15b.  Say (O Muhammad): It is not for me to change it of my accord. I only follow that which is inspired in me. Lo! If I disobey my Lord I fear the retribution of an awful Day.
15b.  Qul  maa  ya-kuunu  liii  ‘an  ‘ubaddi-lahuu  min-  tilqaaa-‘i   nafsii.  ‘In  ‘attabi-‘u  ‘illaa  maa  yuu-haaa  ‘ilayy.  ‘Inniii  ‘akhaafu  ‘in  ‘a-saytu  Rabbii  ‘Azaaba  Yaw-min  ‘Aziim.

Lesson

It is commanded: Say to them {O Messenger (grace, blessings and peace be on Him)}! It is not my duty to amend or change the Revelations of Allah Almighty. Neither can I increase anything in it nor decrease; and nor am I able to change any word of the Holy Quran at My own. My work is only that I should perform according to that; whichever is inspired unto Me. If I shall disobey My Lord and turn away from His Commandment; I fear that, on the Day of Resurrection, which is a big Day of Strife, I shall deserve severe punishment. None can make ever any change or amendment in this Word.

Virtuous people cannot change it because they know Allah Almighty and they fear from His wrath always, whereas the evil doers cannot amend the Holy Qur’aan because Allah Almighty Himself is Protector of this glorious Word. There is no one in the world; who may change any word or verse of this Holy Book. As its words are protected, its meanings are also the same in accord with the Knowledge of Allah Almighty.

It means clearly that as Allah Almighty inspired the Holy Qur’aan unto His Last Messenger, Muhammad (grace, blessings and peace be on Him), it will remain as it is; until the stability of the world. And wise people, who will aware of its soul, will dwell according to its commandments as well as clear the way for others too.

Known from it is also that explaining the verses of Holy Qur’aan by means of false and self-made elucidations according to own predetermined opinion; is a transgression. It should be recited after emptying the mind from all kinds of reflections. Then it will be easy to understand its correct meanings.

Greatness of God’s Last Word - Quran Chptr 10-15a (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1248)-درس قرآن

Quran Chptr 10-15a (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1248)-درس قرآن

Greatness of God’s Last Word

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

15a.  And when Our clear Revelations are recited unto them, they who look not for the meeting with Us say: Bring a Lecture (Qur,aan) other than this , or change it.
15a.  Wa  ‘izaa  tutlaa  ‘alayhim  ‘Aayaa-tuNaa  Bayyi-naatin,  qaalal-laziina  laa  yarjuuna  liqaaa-‘aNa’-ti  bi-Qur-‘aanin  gayri  haazaaa  ‘aw  bad-dilh.

Lesson

The people of the Arab used to recite the Name of Allah before Islam, but they did not have such conception; in their hearts; of God Almighty and about His Attributes, which was required to be. When Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, blessings and peace be on Him) said to them: Allah Almighty is not only Creator but He is Spiritual Guide too. After creating the mankind, He has not left him; as it is, but He sent Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) for his guidance from time to time along with His Scriptures. Therefore, now He (Allah) has sent Me (Muhammad - SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) for your and the entire human beings’ guidance; as a Messenger, and He revealed upon Me this Scripture, the name of which is (Holy) “Qur’aan”. So you should listen to it, understand it and obey its Commandments.

The inhabitants of Makkah were worshipers of idols. There terror was in the hearts of common people. When they heard about Allah Almighty, His Messenger (Muhammad - SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) and His Book (Holy Qur’aan), they were puzzled. After hearing; they felt that the advices mentioned in it were very good, but they did not understand that It was the Word of Allah Almighty, and the responsibility of His Last Messenger (SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) was to convey it unto the entire people as it was, show them by acting upon its commandments by Himself and describe the people: Obey its commandments as I obey.

When those people heard badness of the idols and their worship, they began to say as a joke or due to ignorance; because they looked not for the meeting with Allah: Bring any such Qur’aan, in which; there is no vileness regarding the idols and their worship, otherwise; you should change such verses at your own.

Either they could not understand or did not wish to know that none can make any changing in the Holy Qur’aan. Its Commandments are Eternal and unchangeable. The only Duty of the Messenger (grace, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be on Him) is to cause to hear; and teach other people by acting upon it Himself.

Quran Chptr 10-13&14 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1247)-درس قرآن

Who wrongs, is ruined

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

13.  We destroyed the generations before you when they did wrong; and their Messengers (from Allah) came unto them with clear proofs (of His Sovereignty) but they would not believe. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.

14.  Then We appointed you viceroys in the earth after them, that We might see how ye behave.
13.  Wa  laqad  ‘ahlaq-Nal-quruuna  min  qabli-kum  lammaa  zala-muu,  wa  jaaa-‘at-hum  Rusuluhum  bil- Bayyi-naati  wa  maa  kaanuu  li-yu’-minuu.  Kazaalika  Najzil-qawmal-mujrimiin.

14.  Summa  ja-‘alNaakum  khalaaa-‘ifa  fil-‘arzi  mim-ba’-di-him  linanzura  kayfa  ta’-maluun.

Lesson

It is commanded that We have established this manner in the world that the disobedient people are loosened, and for causing to understand them about the Right Path, the Messengers (peace be upon Them) are appointed from them. When even then, they do not refrain from wicked deeds and their eyes are not opened, any heavenly misfortune is sent down on them and they are ruined.

According to the same established order, O the people of Arab: Listen to it and cause to hear the entire world that We destroyed many generations and folks before you, because they had gripped up their loins on tyrannizing and did not refrain from wickedness and immortality.

But it did not happen at once; moreover, at first; Our Messengers (peace be upon them) used to come unto them with Our Revelations and showed them clear proofs, so that they should know that really; they are Messengers of Allah Almighty. Then when notwithstanding, they did not believe and remained entangled in their inebriety, then Our wrath was sent down on them and they were ruined. It is custom with Us to punish the guilty people.

After their destruction, now We have peopled you on the earth. We shall observe; whether you adopt the rebellion also like them or straight way; go forth on the Right Path, for which Our Messenger (grace, blessings and peace of Allah on Him) has guided you.

Solution of calamities - Quran Chptr 10-12 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1246)-درس قرآن

Quran Chptr 10-12 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1246)-درس قرآن

Solution of calamities

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

12.  And if misfortune touch a man he crieth unto Us, (while reclining) on his side, or sitting, or standing, but when We relieve him of the misfortune he goeth his way as though he had not cried unto Us because of a misfortune that afflicted him. Thus their deeds have been made fair-seeming to the prodigal.
12.  Wa  ‘izaa  massal-‘insaanaz-zurru  da-‘aaNaa  lijam-bihii  ‘aw  qaa-‘idan  ‘aw  qaaa-‘imaa.  Falammaa  kashafNaa  ‘anhu  zurrahuu  marra  ka-‘allam  yad-‘uNaaa  ‘ilaa  zurrim-massah.  Kazaalika  zuyyiNa  lil-musri-fiina  maa  kaanuu  ya’-maluun.

Lesson

kashafNaa – (We remove, relieve), it is past tense from kashafa. Kashf means “to open, to manifest, to reveal, the performing of a miracle”. It aims “to relieve of any misfortune”.

Marra – it means “he went his way”. It is also past tense from the word marur. Marur means “passing, going own way, being engaged again in ordinary works, a passage, an avenue”.

‘Al-musri-fiina – (the prodigal, the fearless, the arrogant), it is tense of “the subject”, an adjective and plural of musrif, which means extravagant, prodigal, those who cross the lawful limits and self willed. This word has been derived from israf. Israf means “profusion, waste, squandering, extravagance, prodigality, abuse of wealth”. The word musrif is near to faasiq, which means wicked and immortal person.

It is commanded that the humankind does not be ready to believe in Allah Almighty during the days of prosperity, but when he suffers from any calamity and becomes helpless from all sides; then he cries unto Allah Almighty spontaneously in all conditions, whether he is sitting, standing or reclining on any side; and supplicates for His help.

Allah Almighty commands that when there is no helper and supporter in misfortune, then human being invokes his Lord. And then, when his Creator relieves him of the misfortune, he forgets that he had addressed God Almighty in prayer to remove the misfortune. And forgetting Him is considered by the mankind as an ordinary matter, and he does not understand it that his thankless behavior with The Real Benefactor will be cause of any bigger misfortune.

Suspension of punishment - Quran Chptr 10-11 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1245)-درس قرآن

Quran Chptr 10-11 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1245)-درس قرآن

Suspension of punishment

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

11.  If Allah were to hasten on for men the ill (that they have earned) as they would hasten on the good, their respite would already have expired. But We suffer those who look not for the meeting with Us to wander blindly on in their contumacy.
11.  Wa  law  yu-‘ajji-lUllaahu  linnaa-sish-sharras-ti’-jaalahum  bil-khayri  laquzi-ya  ‘ilay-him  ‘ajalu-hum.  Fa-naza-rulla-ziina  laa  yarjuuna  liqaaa-‘anaa  fii  tug-yaani-him  ya’-mahuun.

Lesson

Nazaru – (we suffer, we let go, we set aside), origin of this word is nazarun, which means “to let go, to give up”. So the aim from the word nazaru is “we set aside”.

Ya’-mahuun – (they wander), its origin is ‘amahun, which means “blindness, obscurity, folly”, due to which the right path does not remain visible. Ya’-mahuun means “to wander hither and thither”. This word has passed in Surah ‘Al-Baqarah.

It is commanded that some are such people who demand badness for themselves. So when the Infidels used to frighten from the wrath of Allah Almighty, they used to say: Why do you tell a lie? If you are true then why such wrath does not come? And some of them were so much bold that they used to call Allah Almighty and say: If Islam has been sent by You and it is true; then You should either shower down stones on us or send any other painful doom. (It has passed in Surah ‘Anfaal).

Allah Almighty commands: Say to them! If Allah Almighty had hastened in sending down torment as He causes to rain upon you of distinguishing gifts day and night, then it were very difficult for you to live in the world. Sometimes those people, who are deprived of Belief, begin to curse themselves or others very badly in rage or calamity. If it is done as they say, the world will be over. But the world is to preserve; so that good people may do good works and deserve remuneration in the Hereafter. It is the reason that their imprecations are ignored and they are left careless in their contumacy and inebriety.

Safety from countless complicated paths - Quran Chptr 10-9&10 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1244)-درس قرآن

Quran Chptr 10-9&10 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L–1244)-درس قرآن

Safety from countless complicated paths

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson

After meditating in the previous two verses, the relationship of the human being with the world can be understood clearly. Mankind is a created, actual connection of which is with the heaven, and after creating, he was kept at first there. Because Satan did not bow before the Man (Adam – peace be upon Him), therefore, he tried and got Him flown from the Paradise.

It was commanded that the mankind should be sent out of the Paradise and kept at such place, where he should meet the Devil (Satan) face to face, and whenever he will overcome against Satan, then he should be provided dwelling place in the Paradise. For this purpose He was sent down on the earth (in this world).

The world should be considered as a very vast place of labyrinth, as in the old buildings of mausoleums, some grandee people have constructed places full of wingdings. For entrance into them, there are innumerable doors. But as soon as one enters, there are countless complicated paths, out of which, going forth from one path to another doesn’t matter.

These all paths finish at the second end of the world; and the human being, at last, arrives at any door for going out; after wandering hither and thither, and consequently goes out of such labyrinth. It is impossible to come back unto entrance door from those paths, however, every path leads to go out after numberless turns, and as soon as the human being comes out from any door, enters into the Fire.

There is only one such Path which ends at the Paradise, and which; Allah Almighty has manifested by means of His Last Messenger (grace, blessings and peace of Allah be on Him), and its Signs have been described very clearly. Whosoever chose that Path and moved on it, at last he will reach the Paradise certainly.

But other all paths end at the Hell and Satan misleads the human being and puts him unto any path from those. Allah Almighty commanded in the previous last verse: Those people whose hearts have Belief, that is to say; those who are ready wholeheartedly for obeying the commandments of Allah Almighty after knowing Him, He guides them unto that (Straight) Path. Eventually, the Disbelievers, who go astray on other paths, are thrown in the Fire of the Hell.

Flowing Rivers in Gardens of Delight

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

9.  Lo! Those who believe and do good works, their Lord guideth them by their faith. Rivers will flow beneath them in the Gardens of Delight.

10.  Their Prayer therein will be: Glory be to Thee. O Allah! And their greeting therein will be: Peace. And the conclusion of their prayer will be: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
9.  ‘Innal-laziina  ‘aamanuu  wa  ‘amilus-saali-haati  yahdii-him  Rabbu-hum-  bi-‘iimaani-him.  Tajrii  min-  tahti-himul-‘anhaaru  fii  Jannaatin-na-‘iim.

10.  Da’-waa-hum  fiihaa  Sub-haana-kAllaahum-ma  wa  tahiyya-tuhum  fiihaa  Salaam.  Wa  ‘aakhiru  da’-waa-hum  ‘anil-Hamdu  Lillaahi  Rabbil-‘Aala-miin.

Lesson

By observing the creatures according to previous verses, it has been determined compulsory that the human being should know Allah Almighty. And it has been commanded clearly that those people who did not know their Creator, but considered that only this world is everything, and passed their lives; being entangled in wickedness, fun and sport in this world, their deeds will carry and cast them into the Fire.

Manifest decision of Holy Qur’aan has been described in this verse that such people who will abide by the prescribed Laws of the Religion; after having belief in Allah Almighty, they will derive benefits in all respect.

Those people who obey the Commandments of Allah Almighty after knowing Him, their abode after death will be first class dwelling places; in which; best things will exist for their use, and Gardens of Delight, underneath which Rivers will be flowing. They will live in peace and safety in the Hereafter for ever, will be very thankful to Allah Almighty, will be praying: Glory be to Thee, our Lord!  And they will reside there with pleasure. There will be no dissatisfaction, quarrel or dispute among them. All occupants of the Paradise will be happy and their greeting with one another will be “Peace”.
