Quran Chapter 14  31 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1635) - درس قرآن

Spend of that which Allah has given

Surah ‘Ibraahiim (Abraham) - 14

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

31.  Tell My bondmen who have believed to establish worship and spend of that which We have given them, secretly and publicly, before a Day cometh wherein there will be neither traffick nor befriending.
31.  Qul-li-‘ibaadi-yalla-ziina  ‘aamanuu  yuqiimus-Salaata  wa  yunfiquu  mim-maa  razaqNaa-hum  sirranw-wa  ‘alaani-yatam-min-  qabli  ‘anyya’-tiya  Yaw-mullaa  bay-‘un-  fiihi  wa  laa  khilaal.

Commentary

Bay-‘un – (commerce, trading, buying and selling), it was discussed in Chapter 2 (Suratul-Baqarah).

Khilaalun – (friendship), origin of this word is khalal, which means “to come between two things, interruption”. The word khullatun has also been derived from the same. Meaning of khilaal and this word are “friendly relationship”.

It has been commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): Say to My obedient bondmen that they should worship before Me regularly with reverence at the times of prayers daily, spend from their lawful earnings on necessitous people secretly and give at some occasions openly also. You will find its reward on the Day of Resurrection, if you will do so continuously. Otherwise you will be empty-handed.

If you think that you will purchase virtues on payment from other people on that Day, you should bear in mind that there will neither be any buying and selling, and nor any friendship will be useful.

Known from it is that showing love and friendship with Saints is useless until one does not try to act upon the good works according to the ways described by Them. Those Saints will not be able to cause to deliver from the Doom if one’s own deeds are contrary to the Revelations.
