Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

34.  Come not near the wealth of the orphan save with that which is better till he come to strength; and keep the covenant. Lo! of the covenant it will be asked.

35.  Fill the measure when ye measure, and weigh with a right balance. That is fair, and better in the end.
34.  Wa  laa  taqrabuu  maalal-  yatiimi  ‘illaa  billatii  hiya  ‘ahsanu  hattaa  yabluga  ‘ashuddah.  Wa  ‘awfuu  bil-‘ahd.  ‘Innal-‘ah-da  kaana  mas-‘uulaa.

Commentary

It is commanded: Do never consume the wealth of orphans in your personal requirements. However with the intention to save it or making more profitable and useful, you can use it. In this matter you should keep in view the welfare of the orphans only. And till the time they do not become adult, able to save it themselves and capable to earn profit from it, you should continue saving and looking after their wealth. And when they become young, their physical and mental strength begin to work suitably, then you should hand over their wealth and property to them because that was under your possession as a trust.

After that it is commanded: You should keep the covenant on the condition that it is not against the religious law. You will be asked about it and if you broke it; you will be punished. When you measure for giving in exchange, you should bear in mind and weigh with a right balance without measuring excess or reduced. Fill the measure fairly at the time of weighing for giving and taking. It is better for you and consequently it will be useful and advantageous for all.
