Quran Chapter 17  57 (Pt-15, Stg-4) (L-1818) درس قرآن

Hope for God’s Mercy

Surah Baniii ‘Israaa-‘iil (The Children of Israel) – 17

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

57.  Those unto whom they call upon seek the way of approach to their Lord, which of them shall be the nearest; and they hope for His Mercy and they fear His Doom. Lo! The Doom of thy Lord is to be shunned.
57.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ikallaziina  yad-‘uuna  yabtaguuna  ‘ilaa  Rabbihimul-Wasiilata  ‘ayyuhum  ‘aqrabu  wa  yarjuuna  Rahmata-Huu  wa  yakhaafuuna  ‘AzaabaH.  ‘Inna  ‘Azaaba  Rabbika  kaana  mahzuuraa.

Commentary

Wasiilata – (nearness, approach), this word has passed in Suratul- Maaa-‘idah. It means “source of reaching close to someone”.

Holy Qur’an desires to set the mankind free from superstition and false fear that no one has any power of bringing profit to any person and harming save Allah Almighty and the pious people, unto whom you call upon, considering them your gods and protectors, they all fall prostrate before the same Omnipotent, Who is called Allah Almighty, and they seek the way of approach for His nearness. They rely on Him only for His mercy and fear from His Doom. They consider that being His bondmen and bowing before Him is Ascension of the humanity. Neither they can harm any individual and nor it is in their power that they may bring profit to any person.

To whom Allah Almighty desires; bestows with His Mercy. Therefore every mankind should bow only before Him and supplicate before Him that “O our Lord! Arrange our entire works. Like this, we should seek shelter from His wrath and fear from His Doom, because verily His Doom is very dreadful. His disobedient servants endanger themselves of His wrath being ignorant; by displeasing Him. If they did not incline unto Him only by repenting from plurality; for saving themselves from the Doom, then certainly; their evil days have pushed them.
