Quran Chapter 17  53 & 54 (Pt-15, Stg-4) (L-1816) درس قرآن

If God will, He may have mercy on you

Surah Baniii ‘Israaa-‘iil (The Children of Israel) – 17

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

53.  Tell My bondmen to speak that which is kindlier. Lo! The devil soweth discord among them. Lo! The devil is for man an open foe.

54.  Your Lord is Best Aware of you. If He will, He may have mercy on you, or If He will, He may punish you. And We have not sent thee (O Muhammad) as a warden over them.
53.  Wa  qul-li-‘ibaaDii  yaquu-lullatii  hiya  ‘ahsan.  ‘Innash-Shaytaana  yanzagu  baynahum.  ‘Innash-Shaytaana  kaana  lil-‘insaani  ‘aduwwam-mubiinaa.

54.  Rabbukum  ‘A’-lamu  bikum.  ‘Iny-yasha’  yarhamkum  ‘aw  ‘iny-yasha’  yu-‘azzibkum.  Wa  maaa  ‘arsalNaaka  ‘alayhim  wakiilaa.

Commentary

God Almighty commands to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): you should describe My bondmen (entire mankind) that they should always think before speak and say such thing which is best in accordance with the circumstances and by which, there is no fear of mutual dispute, because the Devil thinks always that he should cause the human beings to fight and they should be involved every time in quarreling with one another, and they should never get any time to think about useful matters.

You should understand it well that Satan is an open enemy of the mankind. He will never let the human beings sit satisfied. Allah Almighty is Well Aware of the nature of human being. He knows that the work is always spoiled by instigating, taunting and slandering. Therefore, your only responsibility is to cause softly to know the people good. Making the people straight by beating is not you duty. You should not care whether the people accept your advice or otherwise. Guidance is in the Hand of Allah Almighty. He may have mercy on whom He will, and He may punish whom He will.

It is commanded: We have not appointed and sent Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) as a warden but only to manifest the Right Path. Therefore, O Muslims! You should follow Him and cause to understand the people with kindness. Then you should not be displeased if any of them does not agree.
