Commentary

Zurqun  – {blue-eyed (persons)}, this word is plural of ‘azraqun, which is an adjective from zarqun. Zarqun means “to become blue”. ‘Azraqun means “the person whose eyes are blue”. Blue eyes make the face ugly, also frightful.

It is commanded: The person, who will revolt from Holy Qur’an in the world; will not accept its advice; will not learn a lesson from the admonitory circumstances of old nations mentioned in it and will not change his life according to its commandments; but by turning away from it; he will be involved in fulfilling own lustful desires, he will bear a heavy burden of his evil deeds on the Day of Resurrection. Such kind of people will remain suppressed for ever under such burden. This burden will be established worst for them, and they will be suffering from such distress that they will be greatly worried, but they will never be released from it.

The Day of Resurrection will be such Day on which the Trumpet will be blown and by its sound, dead bodies of the entire mankind will get up. Then Allaah Almighty will assemble the wrongdoers at one place. Their faces will become black due to terror and eyes will become blue, which is a sign of deadly fear.
