Commentary
Laa  tatgaw – (Transgress
not), it is a tense of negative from the word tagii. A word tugyaanun
has also come out from the same which means “to transgress, to rebel, to shake
off subjection, to cross the line of law”.
Hawaa – (he is lost), it is past tense from the word ha-wa-ya,
which means “to be ruined after falling, to fall down in the abyss”. It aims
that he will fall down in the Hell.
In these verses, it is being caused to understand to the
Children of Israel. Allaah Almighty says: We did great acts of kindness
upon you. At first We delivered you from the grasp of Pharaoh, who was your mortal
enemy. Then We called Moses (peace be upon him) on the right side of (Mount) Toor
for giving him Torah, which was for your guidance. And when you were missing
the right path in the wilderness, then We sent down the Manna and the Quails
for your food and said! Eat and reap advantage from these good things according
to instructions. Escape from extravagance. Don’t think about depositing these
things. Don’t be entangled in greediness and avarice, otherwise your name will
be recorded in the list of disobedient people and My wrath will come upon you. And
on whom My wrath came, he would be thrown in the Hell.
Allaah Almighty has been advising to the Children of Israel by
reminding them these all commandments.
