Quran Chapter 37: 58 to 61 (Pt-23, Stg-6) (L-2760) درس قرآن

Righteous will not be punished

Chapter “Saaaffaat” - (Those who set the Ranks) – 37

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

58.  Are we then not to die-

59.  Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished?

60.  Lo! this is the supreme triumph.

61.  For the like of this, then, let the workers work.
58.  ‘Afamaa  nahnu  bi-mayyitiin.

59.  ‘Illaa  mawtatanal-‘uulaa  wa  maa  nahnu  bimu-‘azzabiin.

60.  ‘Inna  haazaa  lahuwal-fawzul-‘aziim.

61.  Limisli  haazaa  fal-ya’-malil-‘aamiluun.

Commentary

When the man in the Paradise will compare own circumstances and of his other companions in the Garden with the circumstances of those unlucky worldly companions who will have been burning in the Hellfire, then he will feel such pleasure which cannot be wholly guessed here. However, his happiness can be estimated a little from those words which will come out without thinking from his mouth. Those words will be: Shall truly we never die in future as we had to die once in our life; so we died before this life?

After that, now there is perpetual life without death. Along with it, is it also true that we have not been included in those unlucky people who are being tormented; we have been saved for always from grief, pain and afflictions? This condition of the heavenly person matches with that which is seen also in the world. It becomes difficult to believe if someone’s desire is fulfilled, that; is he really so much lucky that he succeeded in achieving his object?

Like this, the man in the Garden will say: Have I and my companions acquired these entire things? If so, then what good luck would be more than it? Our entire desires have been fulfilled. We feel pleasure everywhere. We do not have any confusion, grief or pain. O people! It is the greatest attainment. That person should try to get such triumph who desires to do effort. Temporary success is no success, so you should not be entangled in such thought.
