Review of Surah Taa-Haa

Chapter TAA-HAASurah – 20)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Allaah Almighty be praised, explanation concerning Chapter twenty (Surah Taa-Haa) came to an end, and a reflection of the treasure of its precious advices came before our eyes. In future, as much we shall draw our attention in this magnificent Chapter’s recitation and meditate in its meanings; so much we shall reap advantage during our entire worldly life. Summary of its commandments shows that “to sit being proud of the wealth and property of the world, power and greatness, is beginning of destruction of the mankind”. Actual object of the mankind should be that he should correct his habits and thoughts, and try to make his future life good. To cause to understand the same, Allaah Almighty sent His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) in the world that lest the people ruin their Future due to their misdeeds.

It has been explained in this Chapter that this last Scripture (Holy Qur’an), has been sent down by means of the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him); to teach the mankind; the way of passing a simple life. Human beings should refrain from their airs, bow before their Creator humbly and obey His Commandments. They should neither trouble His servants in any matter and nor tyrannize them. They should know it carefully that “whatsoever I have – strength, power, force, wealth, property or dignity, everything has been bestowed by Allaah Almighty and these are for the test of mine. Therefore I should take work from His grants in accordance with His Will and Command. I should praise to Him at five fixed time during day and night; and be present to be thankful to Him for His Kindness.

Being present before Allaah Almighty for this purpose; is called Salaat (Prayer). The result of offering prayer regularly should be that Magnificence and Greatness of Allaah Almighty should take one’s heart. And for acquiring His reward, one should perform the works for which He has commanded. And for escaping from His wrath and displeasure, one should try one’s best to abstain from committing such works; which are forbidden by Him.

The name of; being acquired these both matters; is Taqwaa (Abstinence). From which prayer, Taqwaa is not acquired, that is not actual prayer but only an apparent tradition. We should try to correct our habits by prayer.
