Commentary

It was commanded: These people consider that Holy Qur’an is absurd and meaningless like gossips of the devils and useless nonsense talk (Let us flee to Allah), and they deem that Muhammad, the last Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is a Poet or Augur. This is their unfairness and perversion. Does it not strike them that Muhammad, (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is very truthful, true and faithful to his word and saying, famous in honesty, righteous, inhabited with advice and well-wishing, displeased from sins and evils, and a pattern of good manners? What relationship can be of such perfect person with the devils? They can never mislead such kind of people. They associate with only those who are liars, treacherous, involved in evils, wet in sins, unchaste and impure from top to toe. The devils come unto such people and descend on them such false matters which they stole and most of them are liars. They do not have any work to do but telling a lie and deception. Such people can be called augurs or something else. Messenger Muhammad, (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) cannot be from them.

On the other side concerning the poets, they excite passions. Victims of passions are those people who went astray and did not find the right path.
