Fulfilling own covenants made before Allah

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

 BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Commentary

By studying carefully the verses of Holy Qur’aan, this relationship of Allah Almighty and the universe makes sense that the universe did not exist in the beginning. Allah Almighty formed it on the basis of His knowledge and eternal purpose; as He desired. He is Possessor of the entire universe solely, and able to use it according to His Will. Neither any person can urge any objection in this matter and nor anyone is allowed to wrangle. All creatures (living and inanimate) have been affirming with own tongue that their Creator, Master, Lord and God is Allah Almighty. Like other creatures, the mankind affirmed also with their tongue that their Creator, Master, Sustainer and God is Allah Almighty. It is obvious in such condition that which behavior will be adopted for them by their Possessor; that cannot be cruelty or violation of Rights, because Zulm is called “improper embezzlement in the possession of someone else. In this case; there is no question regarding possession of any other. Only He (Allah) is Possessor and everything is of Him only. In this sense, above mentioned Commandment is quite right that “Allah wrongeth not mankind in aught; but mankind wrong themselves”. But there is one more particular relation of the mankind with Allah Almighty, which is on the basis of his especial Powers. Those powers are “to comprehend - Knowledge, to inquire into – Wisdom, to have faith – Belief and Intention”. These are spiritual powers.

In the World of Spirits, his soul knew Allah Almighty, believed in Him, and admitted with his intention that He is his Creator, Lord and Master. The mankind were commanded: We shall continue sending Instructions from time to time, but it will be subject to the authority of your own to reap advantage from them (Our Guidance). There will be some such people who will not be able to gain benefit from Our Guidance. Therefore some of you who will be obedient people, will be given remuneration, but the disobedient will be punished.

Accordingly, on the condition of the future reward of the virtues; and reprimand due to evil deeds; the human being accepted this choice. Then it was commanded: This option is a trust of Mine with you. Any other creature did not accept this trust of authority on this condition. Allah Almighty has sent you in this world by empowering you with this trust. If you did embezzle in it i.e. you misused your power unreasonably, then you would tyrannize yourselves. After such covenants and treaties, which punishment will be given to you that can never be said “oppression”.
