So they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (Moses)

hast done a horrid thing.

Commentary
Laa turhiq – (Be not hard), it is a negative sentence from
the word ‘irhaaq, origin of which is “ra-ha-qa”. Rahaq means
“to cover, to conceal, to put on”. ‘Irhaaq means “to dress”.
Zakiy-yatan – (pure,
innocent), this word is an adjective from zakaat, which means “purity,
chasteness, cleanliness etc.” zakiyyah means “neat clear, pure, chaste”.
Nukran – (against the rules), the thing;
which is contrary to the alias (‘urf). ‘Urf means “the matter; commonly
which is considered good”. Nukrun means – which is considered bad.
Prophet Moses (peace be upon him)
began to say: Hey! Indeed I have forgotten. As I promised, I had to be patient. Really
the work of living with you, for which I have taken responsibility, is not
easy. But if you did not show partiality; then it would become more difficult
for me. Please make not this work difficult for me and overlook.
Well! Khizar (peace be upon
him) accepted the excuse of Moses (peace be upon him) and they twain moved
forward.
The next, an incident happened again.
It was more exciting than the earlier. When they passed nearby a township, some
boys were playing there. Khizar (peace be upon him) caught and slaughtered
a boy from them satisfactorily and unhesitatingly. Moses (peace be upon him)
said immediately: Slaying this boy is contrary to sense and transcribing. What
did you do this? Khizar (peace be upon him) continued hearing from Moses
(peace be upon him). Then whatever he answered, that will be described in the
next lesson.
