A Sign in the dead earth

Chapter “YAA-SIIIN” - (YASIN) – 36

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

33.  A Token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof.

34.  And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein-

35.  That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks?

34.  Wa  ja-‘alNaa  fiihaa  jannaatim-min-nakhiilinw-wa  ‘a’-naabinw-wa  fajjarNaa  fiihaa  minal-‘uyuun.

35.  Liya’-kuluu  min  samarihii  wa  maa  ‘amilat-hu  ‘aydiihim.  ‘Afalaa  yash-kuruun.

Commentary

It was commanded previously: The people deny the Messengers of Allaah Almighty (peace be upon them) and being involved in their favorite hobbies, they disregard the Sayings of the Messengers, though they cause to understand them very simple and right thing. They say nothing but that they should believe in Allaah Almighty and be grateful to Him due to His favors. Whatsoever you have received or being given to you, are only by His mercy and kindness.

It is commanded: You see the earth lying dry with your open eyes. Signs of life are not seen in it. After a few days, it rains and the earth becomes green. Astonishing jollity can be seen all around. Grain and corn grow which provide food for the mankind. In one part of the land, gardens of palm trees and grapes are planted. Moreover, Allaah Almighty causes to burst forth therefrom some springs of water for keeping them fresh and green, so that the people may eat their fruit as much as they desire.

Have your hands produced all such things? Never. You have no power to produce anything yourselves. This entire is Bounty of Allaah Almighty and appearance of His Divine Power. Then why do you not reap advantage from these things and be thankful to Him?
