Commentary
From here, the mention about Abraham (peace be upon him) begins.
He was a Prophet of God Almighty. Whatsoever he used to say; was entirely true.
His father, whose name “Azar” has passed in Chapter 6, verse 74 (Suratul-
‘An-‘aam), was a sculptor, used to make idols of mud and stone and sell
them to the people. Those people including Azar himself also used to
prostrate before the idols and perform all ceremonies of worship. Prophet
Abraham (peace be upon him) said to his father: Why do you worship these dumb
and deaf idols? These cannot be of your use. O my father: Give them up and
listen to me! I have come to know that about which you know nothing. I have
seen greatest things of the entire world. These idols do not have any reality
before them. I have pondered on the condition of stars, moon and sun. None of
them is able that it should be accepted as Lord and worshipped. Best counsel for
you near me is that you should act upon my advice. And you should do that whatever
I say. I shall guide you unto the Right and Straight Path, after which there
will be no danger for you.
