Commentary
It is commanded: Pharaoh had rebelled. He was thinking that he
should destroy the Children of Israel. Allaah Almighty had contrived to
make such people rich with His rewards and appoint them leaders, to whom
Pharaoh desired to ruin, and replace them by removing Pharaoh and his courtiers,
and give authority and power of the Country under their jurisdiction, and involve
Pharaoh, his Minister Haamaan, his followers and supporters in the same
danger; in which they had involved the Children of Israel, for escaping from
which they used to slaughter their new born sons as soon as they used to know. Astrologers
of the Court of Pharaoh had frightened him that a Man in the Children of Israel
will be born in near future, by whom the evil will come upon him. His empire
will be ruined. He and his entire Army will be killed.
It was the reason that Pharaoh caused to slay thousands of sons
of the Children of Israel, but by the Omnipotence of Allaah Almighty,
Moses (peace be upon him) was born during that period and was nourished in
Pharaoh’s own palace.
