Commentary
Nahbun – (vow, death), it aims “a solemn promise to Allaah
Almighty, which one takes responsibility to fulfill, that is to say, one
accepts that he will sacrifice his life for the cause of Allaah Almighty”.
It is commanded: During every trouble, fear or danger, the
Believers did put a bold front and went forth; accordingly some of them were
martyred or fulfilled their right of companionship - as Hamza (May Allaah
be pleased with him) {an uncle of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and
peace be upon him)} was martyred in the Battle of Uhud, and many of them
did put their lives in troubles and protected the Messenger (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon him). They did not break their promises but
fulfilled the terms of their commitment. Whatever they said, was true. In future,
Allaah Almighty will give full remuneration to the sincere and true
Believers due to their purity and sincerity.
However, Allaah Almighty will either punish them with a
painful doom who claimed that they were believers while they were deceivers and
who broke their promises, or He will bestow them chance to repent and engage
His attention towards them.
These entire Words were fulfilled in the world as well as will
be fulfilled in the Hereafter too according to the Promise of Allaah
Almighty.
